Married To A Cheater
October 14
Luke woke to the sound of his alarm clock and an empty bed. He sat up frustrated and stalked into the bathroom for a quick shower before work. He made his way downstairs after getting dressed and shaving his face and spied a note on the kitchen counter.
'Went to work early'
He angrily threw the note into the trash and fumed silently as his coffee brewed. His drive to work and the majority of his empty first period thoughts were focused on his wife. The thought of her having an affair crossed his mind several times but he shoved it away each time with vigor, refusing to believe that Dayla could do such a thing.
When his lunch break rolled around he drove to a near 'Subway' for a sandwich. Which was gone in a minute, as his raging thoughts were making him antsy and nervous. He was back at work by the bell for seventh period and welcomed his class with what he hoped was a real smile.
"Alright guys, take out your notes from yesterday. We're gonna start where we left off."
For the next several minutes the slides of the power point flicked across the screen and his voice mixed with the scratching of led against paper.
"Now, I want each of you to choose a prompt and hand the finished product in on Thursday."
The class's groans were drowned out as the bell rang. Luke packed up his bags and followed the crowd out the doors and to his car. He took a moment to collect his thoughts before he called his wife.
