Married To A Cheater

October 17 Part2

"Yes it's me you asshole! How dare you hire a hooker when you're married to me!"

"Dayla-"

"No! Don't 'Dayla' me! You get outside and into this car right now. You are going home."

"Excuse me?"

"I said, Get in the damn car, Luke."

"No."

"What!?"

"I'm not getting in the car with you. We are no longer married and I do not have to deal with your absurd behavior anymore. Do not call me again."

I hung up and put my phone in my pocket and turned to see a smirking Aiden.

"What?"

"You stood up to her."

"...Yea?"

"I've never heard you stand up to anyone before."

I chuckled before walking past him and bumping shoulders.

"Shut up Aiden."

He laughed and his bedroom door shut moments later. I sat in the living room, staring at the black screen of the TV thinking of Amber and Dayla. Dayla was controlling, moody, bossy, impatient, and irrational. While Amber is patient, kind, caring and a generally nice person to be around. She was thoughtful and cared about her close ones dearly. I groaned and fell back into a comfortable piston on the couch. Propping my feet on the opposite end of my head. I put my hands behind my head and closed my eyes. Maybe sleep would clear my mind some.

"Luke, Wake the fuck up! I called Emily and Amber over again. They'll be here in ten minutes."

I shot up and glared at him.

"Why the hell would you call them over again!?"

"I thought you liked Amber."

"I do but, it's just that- I didn't think you'd call them over again! Oh god, you probably made us sound desperate. What did you say?"

Just as he opened his mouth to answer the doorbell rang and he smiled before rushing to get it.

"Hello ladies, and who might this be?"

"Hi, I'm Ashley."

I went to the door, confusion on my face at why this 'Ashley' person was here instead of Amber. As I reached the door I saw Emily and Aiden locked in an embrace and Amber and a redhead standing to the side looking awkward.

"Amber!"

She rushed forward to hug me only to have Ashley push her out of the way to get to me first.

"Hi, I'm Ashley. You're as handsome as Amber said you were."

Ambers cheeks flushed and I smirked at her.

"So Amber thinks I'm handsome?"

"Well, I suppose so but lets not talk about her right now."

She led me to the couch, leaving Amber alone as Aiden and Emily left the house as Ashley was introducing herself.

"Amber come on."

Ashley sat on my right and Amber sat on my left. I leaned back to escape the glared Ashley was giving Amber.

"Um, does anyone want a drink?"

"Do you have any vodka?"

"No Ashley."

"Then no thanks."

I rolled my eyes, already deciding that I didn't like her. She's rude.

"Excuse me ladies."

I went into the kitchen and took out my phone.

'Luke: Who is this girl?'

'Amber: She works at the agency with Emily and I and she overheard my conversation with Emily last night about you then insisted that she come this time to meet you'

I frowned at the text before responding.

'Luke: What were you saying about me?(:'

When she didn't answer right away I knew she was blushing and I returned to the living room to see a bored looking Ashley and a smiling Amber.

"How about we watch a movie?"

"Okay!"

I let Ashley pick the movie as I wrapped an arm around Ambers shoulders and tucked her next to me. When Ashley turned around she glared at Amber and plopped herself on my right side too close for comfort. As the credits flashed across the screen Amber groaned and hid her face in my chest.

"What's wrong?"

"I hate this movie! It's so scary...and Ashley knows I hate it!"

I kissed the top of her head and let my lips linger for a moment. Her hair smelt like strawberries and peaches.

"Don't worry" I numbed into her hair. "I'll protect you."

She giggled and hit my stomach playfully but gasped as she felt the hardness beneath. I chuckled.

"Yea, I work out."

"Shut up Mr. Cocky."

Even though the lights were off I could still she the pink tint that lit traveled from her neck to her face. I pinched her cheek while laughing.

"Ooo, Amber's blushing!"

She swatted my hand away with a smile on her face and we turned to watch the movie. Or, she turned to watch it. My eyes were on her the whole time. I hugged her when she got scared and discreetly moved us farther and farther away from a now sleeping Ashley.

"Amber, Amber wake up."

I sighed when she remained still and carried her to my room. I laid her on my bed and smiled as her face scrunched up and her hands searched for my warmth. I kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll be right back."

I wrote her a note saying that I was going to drop Ashley back at the agency. I kissed her on the forehead again after tucking her under the covers and left for the living room.

"Ashley, wake up."

I tapped her shoulder and she groaned and opened her eyes

"Amber get up I'm taking you home."

She sat up and walked towards the front door and outside to my car as I got my keys.

"Can you give me directions to the agency from here?"

"Yea."

An excruciating forty minutes later I arrived at the agency and said goodbye to Ashley as she got out of my car. I was soon back inside my room stripping out of my clothes and climbing into bed. Amber snuggled into my side then laid still once again. I fell asleep shortly after, my arms wrapped around her body, holding her close.
