Here we are. On our favorite hill, under our favorite tree. The fourth anniversary of when Pentatonix split up.
"I haven't seen you in a while, Mitch. How is everything?" Avi asks, looking over to me as I pull my attention from the darkening sunset.
"I'm doing good. I think Scott is, too," I reply, looking to Scott with a small smile. I see Avi's smile grow a bit as well.
"Kirstie, Avi. How are you two?" Kevin asks, a sudden grin on his face. "Do you like the new place?"
"Yeah," Kirstie says, seeming deep in thought. "It's definitely a step up from our old flat."
"Definitely," Avi said, gently grabbing Kirstie's hand and intertwining their fingers. "Olaf and Pascal seem to love it, too," I smile and look up.
Our favorite tree.
I can remember the first time we were under here together. We were so small and I was so shy. We were adorable.
A lot of people think we met at that Charlie play. That's what we told them, mostly because the real story would drive people pretty crazy.

"Just go do it!" Kit whisper-yelled in my ear, looking at the same 7 year old as I was.
"But what if he says no?" I worry. "He's taller and stuff. I'm just a nerd," I shrugged. Kit rolled her eyes and groaned into her hands.
"C'mon! Just go," she prompts as she pushes me closer toward him. I giggled and turned around, making her stop.
"Okay, I'll go over there. But if I'm right, you owe me a pack of animal crackers," I stated. She groaned and nodded, agreeing to my ridiculous request.
I took a deep breath and looked over to him again. You can do this, Mitch. You've held a tarantula before, what's scarier than that? I shyly walked toward him. Maybe he's nice. I hope he is.
"Hello?" I asked quietly, almost disappointed when I realize I caught his attention. "Can I sit next to you?" I asked again, my voice slightly more coherent.
"Yeah, sure. I'm pretty bored though, so don't expect me to be fun right now," he laughed, enthusiastically patting the grass next to him. I sat down and laughed with him.
"That's my friend over there," I point to Kirstie. "She's really nice. She's a girl but she doesn't have cooties. She isn't gross like the other ones," I giggled, seeing her wave at us with a smile.
"You sure she doesn't got cooties?" He asked jokingly, laughing and waving at her. "She should come over here! She looks like she's nice."
"Ok, sure," I reply before calling Kirstie over. I hear Scott giggle as she trots over.
"Hi! I'm Kirstin, but please call me Kirstie. Kirstin is a grown up name," she smiled as we giggled at her introduction.
"I'm Scott. Kirstie is a pretty name," he turned to me. "What's your name?"
"I'm Mitch. I like your name more than mine, though. Scott is a cool name," I smiled.
"You guys seem really nice. Do you want to be friends?" He asks. I looked to Kirstie and we both nodded.
"That'd be awesome! What do you guys want to do?" I responded eagerly. I really wanted to do something fun with him.
"Absolutely no sports though," Kirstie said with a laugh.
I faked a gasp. "Oh heavens, no! What a horrible thought!" I exclaimed, almost containing my laughter. Scott didn't even seem to try, though. Of course, I wasn't complaining. His laugh was cute.
