Chapter 56 ~ Cops

{Aria's POV;}

"I'll get it.." I say as I get up from the couch.

I walk to the door and peep through the peep hole to see police. I open the door.

"Hey, I'm Officer Brown and this is Officer Kidd, is this the Montgomery residence?" The Officer Brown says. "Can we bring in the investigating squad?"

"Oh! Yes yes, come in.." I smile as I open the front door wider.

"Thank you.." Officer Kidd says.

The go off to my bedroom to investigate and some go off to the all the other rooms upstairs.

"Hey what are they doing here?" Toby asked. "Wait is that Officer Brown and Kidd?!"

"Uh yeah?" I say with slight question.

"Brownie! Kiddy!" Toby hollers.

"Well well well Toby Cavanaugh.. Long time no seen!" Officer Kidd says as he walks towards Toby.

"You keep growing man." Officer Brown says.

"Haha you always had that sense of humour, didn't you.." Toby laughs.

"I could be wrong. But I'm guessing you two know each other.." Hanna says.

We all turn to face Hanna with a 'Are you serious face'.

"Hanna. We need to have a talk." Caleb jokes and laughs.

"I still don't get it guys." Hanna says as she crossed her arms and stands up but Caleb pulls her back down and cuddles her.

"Just shhh Han.." Caleb cuddles her and chuckles.

"Hm. I still want to know what you guys are on about.." Hannah glares and cuddles into Caleb.

"Yeah yeah Han, maybe another time.." Spencer winks.

"Anyway back to the subject. What happens if Mila and Jasmine did take your items?" Ezra asks as he cuddles Darcy.

"Then they will need to give everything back. I'll goddamn sue them if it comes to it.." I glare at the thought.

"But they look like they have no money?" Emily says.

"Em I have a gut feeling this isn't the first time they have pulled a stunt out like this. My money's on that." I sigh.

"But Aria. They've taken all your money." Hanna says.

"Oh Han.." I whine as I face plant the sofa with my head stuffed into a pillow. "Don't mention it.." I groaned into the pillow due to the loss of expensive items they have stole.

"Bad timing Han. Bad timing." Toby laughs as he comes back in with Officer Kidd and Brown.

We laugh and I get up and sit properly on the sofa.

"Any news?" I ask hopefully.

"Yes. We are tracking down Mila and Jasmine. Looks like we're getting closer to them. They'll get what the deserve." Officer brown says.

"But the child.. She couldn't have done anything about it.. What will happen with her?" I ask.

"We're not sure yet but seeing as the father is not an abusive person towards the mother, Mila, then we will have to come to a conclusion down at the station." Kidd adds. "And yes that means you too Aria. We will need you for questioning a few topics okay?"

"Yeah sure, done that plenty of times.." I chuckle trying to make everyone else laugh. It was like that silence with the grasshopper noise. "No? Okay...." I say as I sink down into the sofa.

"Anyway. On a serious note. " Kidd turns and looks at me. I put my hands up in surrender. "We have just got a notification from the squad saying that they have found a trace on Mila." The officers all round up and head for their cop cars.

Everyone stands still acting awkward.

"LETS NOT STAND THERE. LEGO GET THE MONEY BACK!" I cheer.

Everyones enthusiasm is low. I groan. "And.... I'll treat you all to pancakes at the pancake drive thru."

everyone rushes to their cars.

"Ezra, put Darcy in her car basket seat thing, I don't know what to call it.. Make sure she's belted in.." I say.

"Will do.." He pecks me on the top of my head and continues with strapping Darcy in.

We both climb into the front seats and await to drive to the thief called Mila.

"Oh boy am I ready to confront her. Ugh I am PISSED." I burst.

"Ari, calm down love, we'll make sure she returns everything she has taken." Ezra soothes me.

"I hope so. It makes me frustrated that she has taken all that I have worked for in my life yet she only goes around taking money from people by faking an abusive relationship. She used her child for extra sob story act." I sigh in utter defeat.

"It makes me angry just as much as it does to you. Okay let's not just sit here, let's go.." Ezra says as he starts driving the car whilst following the cops in front to find Mila and Jasmine.

I hope Jasmines going to be okay with her mum going in prison for a while. Poor girl..

"Yeah... Let's go.." I turned to Ezra with a smile.
