Chapter 8

Eren's POV:

I opened my eyes slowly, taking in the harsh light of the hospital. Just like any other battle I turn titan in, I end up in the hospital. I sat up, this time I didn't have any tubes or needles attached to me so it looked like the battle wasn't too bad. I swung my legs over the bed and stood up, I clutched my side suddenly

Well almost uninjured

I walked out of the hospital wing with no protest for some reason, I made my way to the dinner hall and saw Mikasa and Armin at their table again.

Something didn't feel right

I walked over to them and they looked up at me surprised

"Eren what the hell are you doing here" Mikasa said standing up

"I'm allowed to be here, anyways..." I looked around and noticed that some of the commanders weren't at lunch, including Levi. "where is commander Levi" I said to Armin

He looked at me and his smile flew off his face, "He is in the hospital wing, remember you saved him from a nasty fall as a titan?"

"You know I don't remember what I do when I'm a titan" I said frantically, "I am going to go see him I will talk to you guys later"

"No wait Eren!" Mikasa ran after me, "Eren be prepared...he took a really bad hit and..." she looked away

"And?"

"He may be dying...his injuries are internal and his heart is as risk"

My hand flew to my mouth, "What" I whispered. I ran towards the hospital as fast as I could, no one followed me as a tear slipped down my cheek. I wiped it away

Be strong damnit

I got back to the hospital completely out of breath, I stumbled down the hallway clutching my side. I saw a water fountain and drank quickly, catching my breath as my heart raced from my run

I went up to the front desk, "Where is Levi" I said frantically

The nurse pointed down the hallway, "Room 134"

I bowed quickly, "thankyou!" I went to the room quickly

I got to the door and looked at the handle, I took a deep breath and walked in. My heart was still pumping quickly

What I saw was Levi laying in a bed, a breathalyser over his mouth and nose and needles and tubes all around his small body. You could still see his muscles through the hospital shirt he was wearing

My hand went to my mouth again, I was so shocked at the sight of Levi.

He looked to weak and venerable.

I walked to the side of his bed, he opened his eyes as I looked down at his small figure. Sunlight filtered in from the windows

"Hey..." I said, choking on my breath and tears went down my cheeks again

"Hey brat, I'm not dead yet so don't go all mushy over me" he said quietly, he looked up at me "thank you for saving my ass out there Eren" he said sincerely

I nodded, this might be the last time I see you Levi

"Levi..." I took his hand, he looked pale and so so weak "Levi...I don't know what to say..."

Levi looked away, his eyes shone in the light of the midday sun Are you crying Levi?

I leaned down and removed the breathalyser on Levi's face, I connected our lips, tears flowed freely from the both of us. It was bittersweet

 I broke off the kiss and rested my forehead on his, "I love you" I whispered

The corner of Levi's mouth tilted up, he was smiling

"I love you too brat" he smiled fully, for the first time in my life I saw Levi Rivaille smiling. And it was because of me, I smiled back.
