I was furious. Where did Eric go, the good-for-nothing scumbag of a boyfriend? Stupid Sienna. I knew he'd ditch us.

Now was not the time to get angry, though. I had to think. My talent seemed to be to understand animals, so maybe I could use that to get away. Maybe tell a bird to help or something.

I willed myself to actually need to use the bathroom.

"Uh, sir?" I asked as innocently as possible.

"What do you want, freak?" He growled when he spoke to me. It hurt a little, but I didn't expect any kindness. I'd gotten used to it.

"If you don't want me to pee on your arm, I would suggest putting me down."

He grunted to the guy carrying Sienna, and they both stopped. The guy holding me put me down. I tried to walk away from him, but he grabbed my arm roughly.

"No, freak. Right here," he said harshly.

"Well would you mind taking this thing off my head so I can see?"

There was a slight pressure on my neck, and the bag was lifted from my head.

"Thank you. Can I go behind the tree?" I gestured some random tree a few feet away.

He hesitated, then nodded and let me go, turning to his crony who still had Sienna, "Dude, it needs to piss."

I scampered behind the tree and see a little lizard. Scooping him up into my hand, I speak quietly, "Hey can you understand me?"

The little guy moves to face me, "Yes, I can," his thoughts echo in my head.

I fight to hold back a sigh of relief, "Great. I need you to get help for us. We're being kidnapped."

The lizard blinked at me before nodding and waddling away.

I zipped and unzipped my pants before walking out from behind the tree. The two thugs had disappeared, but Sienna lay where they stood, bloody and panting.

"Oh my God, Sienna!" I ran over, rolling the other girl over. She had a crazy smile on her face.

"I got those guys! I got them!" She laughed.

She was laughing? I couldn't help but stare in disbelief. I was shocked out of it by a deer nudging my arm.

"You need help?" The doe's thoughts echoed.

"No thank you," I looked at Sienna, who had stopped laughing, "This little bitch did it herself."

The doe looked at me for a second before walking away.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming towards us and a boy rushed through the trees looking terrified.

It was Eric.

Before he could speak, the anger I felt earlier rushed back and I lunged at him, pinning him to the ground.
