We'd been walking for quite a while, when I finally spoke up, "Alright, guys. Cuddle time's over. We really need to move."
Sienna had woken up a few minutes ago, but Eric refused to set her down. Now, though, she put a hand on his chest, and he lowered her safely to the ground, though he kept his hands on her arms to steady her. "Are you okay?" He asked her, completely ignoring me.
She waved him off, stepping out of his reach, "Yes, I'm alright now."
Any traces of the crying fit that she'd had were gone. She was once again the strong girl that I had grown to admire in the short amount of time. I had begun to see her as the older sister that I never knew I wanted. I hoped that Eric and Sienna saw me as a strong person, too. Weakness isn't good for being in the run.
Eric didn't seem very convinced that she was really okay, so he stayed near her. They were walking slightly ahead of me, and I could hear them whispering to each other and laughing. I glared at them, suddenly feeling a bit left out. Before I could call them out, though, I yawned, and my eyelids suddenly felt very heavy. "Guys?" I called, "Can we stop soon?"
They both looked back, and Sienna rushed over to where I had stopped. I didn't know I was falling over until she caught me. "Eric, let's rest for a minute. We've been walking for hours."
It took some convincing, but Eric eventually gave in, and agreed to stop. I was dozing off when I heard Eric say that he was going to go gather firewood, and Sienna said that she'd take the first watch while I slept. They said some other things to each other, but I was too tired to listen. When Eric finally left, I was almost out. Then, I was.
