29.My Mom? The Teacher?
I woke the next morning to an alarm clock going off. I turned it off and noticed a note beside it. I quickly switched on the lamp and read the note-Get dress and be ready for class in a half-hour.
I quickly showered before putting on some clothes from the dresser. I slowly walked down the hall, gripping the handrail tightly; so the racing kids and adults like me wouldn't push me over.
I made my way to a chair and my mother entered. “Hello class,” she greeted as she seated herself at her desk.
“Hello Mrs. Otter,” replied the other students.
“Hi Mom,” I greeted as I waved and everyone stared at me.
“Oh, James. Come get your textbooks,” she ordered as she smiled that motherly smile. I slowly got up and walked up there. I turned around with my ears perked to all the whispering. I started back, but I didn't pay attention; so I tripped over a chair leg. I scrambled to gather my books and get back to my chair, while the whispers continued. I worked several hours in the class room until it was time for lunch; then all the animal-kids returned to their own rooms to find food. I relaxed on my bed, eating off the chicken leg I found. I got up, when I was done and rushed outside to the woods behind the hotel.
