40.Remembers Now
“Wake up, my lion,” Anna said as she slightly pushed me.
“Okay, let's go check on our cub,” I replied as I led her back to the trailer.
“Annie dear, are you awake?” Anna whispered as we crept through the door.
“Yes Mom. I feel like I have been in a nightmare, where I forgot everything,” Annie answered as she rubbed her little, sleepy eyes.
“Who am I?” I inquired as I knelt before her and she stared at me carefully.
“That is a hard one.” She rubbed her chin and smiled. “Oh I know! You are my Dad!” she laughed as she leaped into my arms.
“Thank God!” I cried as I hugged her close and I was sure she could feel me purring.
“Why? What is wrong?” she asked perplexed as she pushed slightly back and looked at me.
“You haven't known me for two days,” I sobbed as I stared into curious eyes.
“Well, I remember now,” she laughed before she kissed my cheek. “Now I must go check on my Big cats. Mom, are you coming?” she asked, sounding very grown up.
“No dear. I believe Robi and Billy will be there,” Anna answered as she stepped towards me.
“Okay, bye,” Annie cheered as she speed off and Anna helped me to my feet.
