I was on my way home from school, a small apartment with just two rooms, a bedroom and a kitchen/living room, when I heard a bunch of yelling. Out of curiosity, I made my way over, only to find a bunch of older academy students picking on a boy I assumed was their classmate.

He had long black hair that was pulled back in a braid, and wide onyx eyes. "You can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu, and you suck at taijutsu, so why don't you just quit?!" A brown haired boy yelled, kicking him in the side.

The injured boy coughed up a little blood, and my eyes widened in horror. "Dork Lee! Dork Lee!~" The other kids sang.

Finally losing my patience, I stepped between the bullies and the boy.

"Hey, look! It's that demon girl everyone's talking about! By getting rid of her, we'll be doing the whole village a favor!" One yelled.

"Yeah!"

I smirked, looking behind me at the boy on the ground. The smirk never left my face, not even as more and more kicks and punches made contact with my flesh. Instead, it grew bigger, until the kids eventually have up and went home.

When the last bully was out of sight, I allowed my body to collapse in the ground next to their previous victim. "Hey, you okay?" I asked, grinning widely.

"H-hai! But... why did you stand up for me? You got hurt..." Worry filled his eyes, but I shrugged it off.

"Meh, if there's one thing I will not tolerate, it's bullies, ya know? I'm Yumi, by the way." I said, looking at him expectantly.

"Ah, I'm Rock Lee, but you can call me Lee." He said, grinning back.

I stood, offering him a hand. "Come on, let's go to my house, I'll take care of your wounds."

He looked at me in surprise, before tears welled up in his eyes. "A-arigato!"

Seeing his tears, I began to panic. "O-oi! Don't cry! Did I say something? Ano... I know, I'll make you some dango and tea, too!"

He gave a watery laugh, standing up. "No, no. It's just... I'm so happy! I've never had a friend before."

A... friend?

<¤>
As it turns out, when you assist somebody, you automatically become their friend. At least, that's what I assumed, because after that, when ever he wasn't training, which admittedly wasn't often, Lee was practically glued to my side.

Eventually I told him about all of the experiments Orochimaru had done on me. In response, he vowed to beat the living daylights out of the snake Sannin, should he ever run into him.

I'd smiled at him greatfully, but found myself hoping that he never had to carry out that promise. I'd already lost my family to the stupid snake, I wasn't going to lose my best friend to him, too.

No matter what, Orochimaru wasn't going to touch a single hair on my overly exuberant friend's head.

Ne, let me know what you think. Also, I still don't know whose team I want to put her on, so let me know. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed, nyaa~

Bye!
