I wake up to warm arms wrapped around me. I remember how cold it was last night and how I moved in with someone to keep warm.

I look up to who is holding me, and my body leaps back...well as far as I can while trapped in his arms. Out of all people, how did I end up with Zayn!? I put my hands against his hard chest and push away. I try to pry his hands off my waist; he groans and turns away from me. I sighed from all the effort as I sit up. I'm startled as I meet Harry's eyes. He looks between Zayn and I a few times. He huffs and turns on his heel, storming off into the kitchen. The door flips back and forth from the force he put on the door. He's angry and I want to know why.

I stand, smoothing out my clothes. I move towards the kitchen, my hand hovering over the door.

"I'd leave him alone if I were you," Liam startles me. "He can be a proper snide when he's upset."

"Okay." I step away from the door. "So... What do you two usually do around this time?"

"Well Zayn and I usually just stand guard while the other makes breakfast."

"I can keep watch if you'd like." Liam nods.

"I'll make breakfast then." He says, and we part ways.

I sit by the boarded up window that faces the main road, where Harry and I came from last night.

After about thirty minutes, I see Liam shaking Zayn to wake him up. Liam hands Zayn a bowl, then one to Harry. Liam approaches me.

"Ray." He puts a bowl of oatmeal in my hands.

"Thanks." I respond and he sits across from me. "Did you figure out what was wrong with Harry?"

"Yeah. But he was just being a grump about it. He's over it now."

"Over what?"

"It's nothing." He says.

Harry and Zayn start making a din, laughing and tackling each other. Zayn accidentally knees Harry in his...area...causing him to yell out in pain. I giggle and gaze out the window again. My heart stops when I see two walkers by the gas pumps. Their lifeless eyes were fixed in our direction.

"Liam..." I croak, and point.

"Zayn! Harry! Shh!" Zayn and Harry stop immediately and look at us. I point my eyes out the window to the walkers again. Harry and Zayn quietly approach us, looking out to the walkers.

We all stand perfectly still, holding our breath. We dare not move. We would wait for the walkers to move on.

It feels like ages until the walkers look away from us, bumbling along the road again. I let out a quiet sigh.

"Let's avoid any loud noises, eh?" Liam whispers and we nod.

Zayn and Harry walk over to another booth, and Liam collects my bowl. I grab the edge of the bowl.

"Liam, I'll do it."

"No, Ray. It's okay."

"Seriously, Liam. You gave me some of your food. It's the least I can do."

"I don't know..."

"You could take watch guard?"

He gives in and smiles, "okay." He lets go of the bowl and I walk towards Zayn.

"Are you finished?" I ask Zayn.

"Yeah." He says handing me his bowl. I turn me head to Harry.

"Harry, are you done?"

When he doesn't even acknowledge my presence, I feel irritated.

"Harry." I say, a little sternly. His eyes snap up to meet mine.

"Yeah, yeah. Sorry." He hands me his bowl.

"Is something wrong?" He glances towards Zayn.

"It's nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Yeah, it's nothing. I promise." He smiles at me. "Everything is okay now."

"Okay." I huff and go to the kitchen. I put the dishes in the sink and turn the hot water faucet. When the water actually comes out of the faucet, I gasp.

"Well water." Harry says, appearing from the serving window. I gasp again, backing away from the sink with my hand over my heart.

"Harry! Don't scare me like that!" I yell.

"Sorry." He blushes, toying with a cross necklace that's chain falls perfectly on his collar bones like a waterfall. There was a quick silence.

"You're a mystery, Ray." My expression hardened.

"Good."

"But why?"

"Because."

"Because what?"

"Because, Harry."

"That's not a real answer, Ray."

I put on a fake smile and took a deep breath, "You know what else isn't real? Unicorns. Now go, Harry! I have to clean the dishes!" I laugh.

"Okay! Okay!" He puts his hands up in surrender, and goes back to Zayn and Liam.

My mind wanders as I clean the dishes.

"I could leave here with a bag full of food. I could be on my own." My mind says.

"That's insane." I argue with myself.

"Oh but it's not. What's holding you back? Those boys?"

I could really leave. I could gather a pack of food in a blanket of night I could leave here and be on my own once again. Part of me longs for the comfort and company of the boys, but the rest of me knows I couldn't trust them, they can't trust me, and we are bound to argue. They might turn on me, or even sacrifice me to the dead. I was the outsider here after all.

The idea made me queasy.

I could leave! And so easily.

I could leave before anyone could care about me.

Tonight. I'll do it tonight.

I finish the dishes and see the boys at the booth. I take a deep breath before walking to stand next to them.

"Hi." I say.

"Hey." Harry says with a wide grin.

"What are you all talking about?"

"Just some X-Factor memories." Zayn says with a genuine smile for one of the first times.

"Go ahead and sit," Liam says, motioning to the seat next to Zayn.

I hesitate, but slide in the booth anyway.

We talk for hours on end. I just listened for the most part, laughing at their crazy antics. I learn a lot about the boys, like how they always filmed video diaries, and how they got third place on X-Factor. It's nice to get to know them a little, and the thought of leaving them is starting to pain me a little.

But it has to happen.
