XXI. INT. COFFEE SHOP. NIGHT.
Eris goes inside and puts the take out bag on the counter.
ERIS
Connor.
Connor brewing coffee for his own stopped when he heard Eris' tone. This was real talk.
CONNOR
Yeah?
ERIS
I think it's time we should tell them.
CONNOR
Like, now?
ERIS
Yeah? Kian asked me if I was single.
CONNOR (eyes got bigger)
Shit. I was right.
ERIS
What?
CONNOR
We should tell them.
JC comes in the station, gets a pizza from the take-out bag.
CONNOR
JC!
JC (taking a bite from the pizza)
Yeah?
CONNOR
Did you know?
JC (busy with his pizza)
Know what?
ERIS
That... Connor's my boyfriend.
JC already expected that, but he didn't want his judgment to come out first before they reveal for themselves.
JC
I thought so, I saw you hold hands. Does Kian know?
CONNOR
That's why we're telling you right now. Kian just asked if Eris was single.
JC
Oh. He should know this.
JC gets out and calls Kian to go inside. JC comes back together with Kian.
CONNOR
Hi, Kian.
KIAN (heart pumping, thinks he's in trouble)
Hey. What's up?
ERIS (fills in for Connor)
There's something you should know.
KIAN
Okay. What's that?
ERIS
That Connor and I are...
CONNOR (continuing Eris' sentence)
...In a relationship.
Connor slowly putting his arms on Eris' waist, Eris puts her hands on Connor's.
ERIS
And sorry, I'm not single.
Eris gives Kian a smile but knows he's going to feel sad.
KIAN (slightly hurt because it's his first time to be in the friend zone)
It's okay. I got to admit, I did have a crush on you, Eris. I still do. And Connor, I'm sorry and I hope things don't become awkward between us.
CONNOR (laughs)
Who said things will be awkward?
Connor and Eris let go of each other and Connor gives Kian a bro-hug.
KIAN
Aww, thanks man!
Eris comes closer to Kian.
ERIS
So, do you still want to learn to brew coffee? After this...
KIAN
Of course I want to! Nothing's going to change, I'll only be more careful with my actions!
Kian smiles and gives Eris a high five.
CONNOR
So, who's that secret admirer of yours?
About that, Kian hasn't read the letter yet. And Connor might know who the admirer is.
Kian takes out the letter from his apron pocket, unfolds it, reads silently. He reads the bottom part of it...
KIAN
Love, Karma. Karma?
Kian looks at JC when he repeats the name, "Karma".
