LV. INT. COFFEE SHOP. NOON.
Connor decides to make coffee to lighten his mood. He left the cashier and brewed. Kian goes inside the station but Connor didn't notice.
KIAN
Hey Connor!
Connor, being busy brewing coffee, heard him but didn't look.
CONNOR
What is it?
Kian leaned on the coffee counter, tried his best to make Connor look at him.
KIAN
I was wondering, if you can teach me how to brew coffee?
Connor smiled at the idea of his friend wanting to learn what he loves doing.
CONNOR (smiling)
Great! What made you think you wanted to learn my ways?
KIAN (scratching his head)
Uhh... because...
Connor looks at him strangely.
CONNOR
Because?
KIAN
Because ever since I got here, all I do is wait and clean tables and take orders at the cashier. You're the one who's doing the fun part all the time.
CONNOR
Ohhkay, I'll take that. You'll start tomorrow. Eris will be in charge here.
Connor winks at Eris.
ERIS
Me?
CONNOR
Yep.
ERIS (nods in agreement)
Right.
Eris holds out her hand at Kian for a high five. Kian follows.
ERIS
We'll start tomorrow.
KIAN
Great!
CONNOR
Now go back to work! I'm not paying you to stare at us.
Kian leaves barista station, picks up the orders to serve at the tables. Connor and Eris were left at the station.
CONNOR (to Eris)
I don't think it will be a good idea to teach them about brewing, but it's great that they have the initiative to ask me that they want to learn!
ERIS
How can you be so sure? I was a pain in the ass when you taught me the first time.
Connor holds Eris' hand slowly and intertwines their fingers.
CONNOR
The best pain in the ass.
Eris lets go of Connor's hand.
ERIS
Shh! You don't want us to get caught right?
You almost got caught guys! Right timing when JC stepped into the station.
JC (getting suspicious about both of them but not going to tell Kian yet because he thinks he might be wrong)
What are you two doing?
Connor and Eris moved a bit farther from each other.
CONNOR
Nothing! I was just looking at her newly-manicured nails!
Connor tried to sound gay as possible.
