Ike kicked the metal bars again, frustrated with his inability to break them. It may have been only a few hours, but this room already seemed to be getting smaller. He walked around the edges, pressing his hand against the wall in hopes of finding a false spot. If there was one thing that he and Marth agreed on, it's that tight spaces were the absolute worst. At least it was him who got taken. The first couple of times they had shared a room, Ike made the mistake of closing the door all the way, and was confused when Marth spent the whole night sitting in bed, knees pulled his chest, to embarrassed to go and open the door again. When Marth started losing battles from lack of sleep, Ike became worried and confronted him on the matter. Marth confessed almost immediately and Ike never closed the door all the way again.
Ike sighed, finding no way out, he sat against the wall and tried to rest. "At least Marth is okay!" He said out loud to himself. "And if I'm not dead, the others must not be dead as well!" He grinned dorkishly. "Link and Zelda are great at puzzles... And with Marth being the one looking for us... This creature doesn't stand a chance!" He nodded and smiled, closing his eyes for a second, before hearing a scream of pure terror. Ike shot to his feet, running to the bars and trying desperately to see where the noise was coming from. He knew exactly who is was. Just then, the metal bars imploded on themselves, leaving nothing but strange floating particles around. Ike gasped and stepped back, but quickly realized this was his chance to escape. He ran through the strange particles and followed the sound of the screaming.
The noise led him down a hallway and through a heavy wooden door, which he pushed open with ease. The room was dark, except for the middle, which was illuminated with strange glowing patterns. In the center of the circular patterns, was Link, seemingly suspended in midair. The patterns changed their colour, and Link was shocked horribly. Link cried out in pain, Ike ran forward to try and help him. The second he touched the patterns on the floor, he was thrown back. The room filled with a strange sound, almost like a hiss. "What do you want?!" Ike called out to the darkness. He swore he saw movement out of the corner of his eye, but it was gone as soon as it arrived. Another pulse was sent into Link. Suddenly, an image appeared in front of Ike. It as Marth. He was in a forest, sprinting to the other side, without a doubt trying to find a way to find the others. Words made of shadows appeared over the moving image of Marth. 'Fair trade... one life for two...' The words read. Ike hesitated. Link cried out in pain once again. "Me and Link... for Marth." He whispered. The picture and the words faded away. Link made eye contact with Ike, giving him a look that was begging for help. He didn't want to do this... Marth was his friends, but he was strong. He could take whatever this creature threw at him. "Deal..." Ike whispered and closed his eyes.

Marth had sat down to rest for a moment. He had been running for hours, and needed a break. The prince set Ragnell on the rock next to him and leaned back against the trunk of a cherry tree. He would rest for an hour or so, before continuing his quest to find the one that could help him. Marth planned to get there by nightfall. Once he figured out what the creature was and how to defeat it, he could find his friends... but for now, rest. He shifted uncomfortably on the grass. His head ached and he felt as if he were about to pass out. Marth's vision started to go dark around the edges...

The second Ike had agreed, he went unconscious, as did Link. When they woke, they were on a grassy hill, lying under a cherry tree. Ike sat up and took in the surroundings. Link was still lying there, pretty obviously in to much pain to move very much. He moved next to Link and helped him sit up. "Link? You alright, buddy?" He asked as if he were talking to a child. Link nodded and struggled to his feet. He stood as well. "Take it easy for a while... rest..." Ike demanded and led him to the trunk of the cherry tree, forcing him to to sit against it. Link grunted in protest, but didn't have the energy to get back up again. Ike glanced over at the rock that Marth had set Ragnell on. He gasped in excitement and ran to it, picking it up. He swung the sword through the air, before sliding it back into it's sheath. "Thank you, Marth." Ike spoke into the nothingness around him.
Ike walked over to Link and sat down next to him. "Where do you think Marth was going?" He asked. Link simply shrugged his shoulders. "Well... we will follow this path until we find something. Wherever Marth was going, it must be able to help us somehow." He sighed. Link stood up again. Ike groaned. "You won't take no for an answer, will you?" Link shook his head and smirked. He sighed in frustration and stood, walking up to Link. Both boys started off down the path. Something seemed off about Link though. Ike could have sworn he was walking with a slight limp, and he kept turning his head and looking off into the forest like something was going to attack them. Ike positioned his hand on the hilt of his sword. Link had better hearing then him... maybe there was something there.
Suddenly there as a snapping sound from the woods. Both boys froze and stood back to back. Link wished he had his sword, or his bow... or something. Ike pulled Ragnell from it's sheath and held it ready. For a moment there was silence..
Welp. I'm a jerk. Cliffhanger! Anyways, I'll be introducing a new character next chapter. I know this one is kind of crappy but I will be editing it and fixing it soon, I just could't stand not being a horrible author and ending things off on a cliffhanger. By the way, the picture at the top is of Ike. I will be continuing adding good fanart to the top and telling you who it is. Feel free to call me out on anything I did wrong or something I should improve on. Don't forget to slap the vote button and follow button! -Adreana
