I added the picture of Mari, so you can see how she looks in the book. :)

*Writer's POV*

You woke up to the sound of a shrill scream, followed by a series of hoarse laughter. You sat up instantly and scanned the room you were in. The walls were painted a dark blue and one wall was covered in band posters. There was a black dresser and on top was a TV. There was a dark grey nightstand next to you and a blue lamp was beaming a low light. There was a picture on the dresser. You picked it up and looked at the two faces staring back. A girl in her early teens and a boy about the same age. The girl had long dark brown hair that reached below her elbows and she had bangs that reached her chin that covered her left eye. Her dark blue eye had a slight sparkle as she gave a small smile. Her white hoodie was keep clean and her black skirt was above her knees. The boy had brown, wavy hair that reached to his shoulders and his light brown eyes were looking slightly away from the camera in embarrassment. He also wore a white hoodie and black pants. His arm was over the girl's shoulders, which caused him to blush slightly. You turned over the photograph and saw a bunch of notes scribbled in neat handwriting. Before you could read what was written on the back, you heard footsteps from outside the room. They got louder and stopped at the door. In fear, you placed the photo back on the nightstand and quickly hid under the covers, acting as if you were still asleep. The door opened and the footsteps entered and filled the room. The door closed and the footsteps neared the bed. Sweat began to trickle down your face in fear. A small sniff was heard and the person sighed.

"I know your awake..." A girl's voice? "I can smell your fear." She gave a slight chuckle and stepped closer to the bed. "On the count of three! If you don't come out... Well, we can play a game." Game? You thought. "1..." She began the countdown with a singsong voice. "2..." You couldn't handle the suspense anymore. You sat up under the sheets and lifted it slightly to reveal your face. When your eyes met hers, well only one of her eyes, you gasped. Her eye was a deep blue and the other was covered by long bangs. Her dark brown hair reached below her arse. There was a hint of blood running down her face, her hoodie was black and she wore a black skirt that didn't reach her knees. She was basically identical to the girl in the picture. Except... She was bloody and she was about a year or two older than when the photo was taken. Her eye didn't have the same sparkle though. They looked dull and depressed.

"W-who are you?" You asked in a shaky voice. She looked at you and smiled. Even her smile had a hint of depression. She was forcing the smile.

"I should be asking the same... But I already know who you are..." She tried to laugh, but that even sounded forced. "Eyeless told me about you and Sally, so..." She trailed off for a second and frowned, as if she remembered something terrible, but she quickly replaced it with a bright smile. "I offered him to let you rest in my room!" She still didn't answer my question, but...

"My name is..." You hesitated, wondering if you should tell her your name.

"My name is Mari." She said with a hint of sadness and weakness in her voice.

"My name is (Y/N)..." You saw that she was becoming more and more sad. "Ummm... Where's Jack?"

"Oh! He went out to kill," Mari stopped and sat on the bed. She looked drained after saying that. She made a face of discomfort as she took a deep breath. You opened your mouth to say something before she interrupted you.

"So... Jack... Kept you alive?" Mari laid back on her bed and raised a hand up toward the ceiling.

"Yeah..." You answered after a long pause. Mari shifted into a comfortable position and smiled slightly.

"Tell me the story..." Mari paused, "All of it."
