Every since that night over at Ms. Quinn house I have tried to avoid Ian. All of the feelings that I had locked away were trying to claw their way back out. It was my job to keep them in. I couldn't have feelings for my brothers best friend. It just wasn't right. I was wrong, right?

After Ian took me to his room and confessed his feelings I did the worst possible thing a girl could do, I ran. Not just got up and walked out of the house either. I actually ran like an idiot.

As surprising as it sounds from my previous experiences I didn't have to try hard to avoid him. So what, that I had to duck into a few random class rooms or that once I even ducked into the boys locker room. Thank God no one was in there, but I couldn't get rid of that smell out of my favorite sweater for days.

Unfortunately Emily had noticed my uneasiness whenever Ian was brought up in a conversation. "Don't you have a boyfriend?" She ask.

We stood in line at the cafeteria. I tried to ignore the elbows digging into my sides, and listen to what Emily was saying.

"Yeah why?" I asked

She gave me a look that said I wasn't fooling anyone. "You have a thing for Ian. Don't deny it I see the way you look at each other."

"What are you talking about?" I tried to sound naïve.

"I have to admit Ian is one of the hottest guys at school, but everyone knows he's trouble. Every since he's started school here he's been nothing but trouble. The girls that go after him just end up brokenhearted. Don't say you weren't warned." She looked at me sympathetically.

"What makes you such an expert?"

She inhaled deeply. "Look, Storm, going after Ian is only going to get you hurt. That's just the truth."

"It's just not fair," Em continued "he walks around looking gorgeous, picks his flavor of the day, uses them, then never talks to them again."

"Sounds familiar." I chuckled.

"Don't tell me you hooked up with him." Em asked seriously.

"What? No. I was talking about my brother. I mean there is a reason those two idiots are bestfriends." I said picking up a tray and following Emily to our table.

"Can you at least be a little more sociable?" My brother asked he's been pleading with me all day to go to this party with him. Since the only way he could go is if I went. Mom didn't trust him enough.

"No."

"But it would be rude of us not to go." He said pouting.

I rolled my eyes looking up from my phone. "Fine."

After begging for an hour my brother had finally got his way. "Thanks little sis." He said grabbing my face and pinching my cheeks. "I will never call you loser, geek, or lame ever again."

By eight o'clock I had shower and changed into a fitted light blue dress with boots and dark thigh highs that stopped about an inch before my dress started. I put on lip gloss that Emily had gave me last week. Once I was pleased with my results I stepped out of the bathroom into my room.

"What took you so long? Your not going to a fucking ball."

I jumped when I heard a voice in my room.

Ian was laying back on my bed with his hands behind his head. "You ready?" He asked sitting up.

He stopped and stared he had a look in his eyes that quickly disappeared.
