SPIDER Protection Guidelines:
SHN-82 must be kept in a custom-made safe stored in the basement of Jade Castle, which is located on the outskirts of Cyglenos, Laetra. The safe it is stored in protects SHN-82 from being accessed through brute force and other unconventional means. It can resist temperatures up to 4525° C for up to two hours, survive large, explosive blasts up to three thousand tons of TNT, and shows no signs of wear from being fired upon by firearms of nearly any type (those that do leave marks show no noticeable impact on the safe's security).
The interior of the safe is protected by a laser grid that surrounds SHN-82. If an unauthorized individual comes into contact with these lasers, the counter-portal frequency (or CPF) will be deactivated, and the portal device within the safe will activate, warping SHN-82 to another safe of similar strength located in SPIDER. The lasers will also send a red alert to the castle's guards, SPIDER, SHADAII, and to every member of the Triumvirate.
Devices used to detect and report activity in SHN-82's containment area should be frequently inspected to ensure they are working properly. This includes security cameras (4), pressure-sensitive floor tiles (36), and motion sensors (6). The laser grid and CPF within the safe and its access panel on the front does not need inspection, as those are all powered by SHN-82 itself. Inspection should be carried out by agents that have clearance from both Director Trench and Xander Jade, the owner of the castle.
Accessing SHN-82 should only be allowed in extreme circumstances. It can only be removed from its safe through the use of three key cards. These key cards are assigned only to individuals that have permission to use SHN-82. Names of the card holders are withheld, under instruction from Director Trench.
Description:
SHN-82 is a dodecahedral object measuring at 11 x 11 x 11 centimeters. The object appears to be carved out of wood from trees native to Laetra. Most of the faces on SHN-82 are featureless, aside from what is referred to as the 'front' of SHN-82. The front side displays a deeply-carved symbol of an equilateral pentagon with five small rectangles surrounding it. According to Naomi Chiyoko, the symbol stands for 'power.'
SHN-82's age is unknown, but is approximated to be over one thousand years old. It remains a mystery as to who or what created, and for what purpose it was meant to serve. The oldest discovered records pertaining to SHN-82 suggest it was found at the bottom of Siebuhlt Lake in Laetra, and then moved to Jade Castle. How it ended up in Siebuhlt Lake and where it was before then is currently being researched.
SHN-82 appears to generate a seemingly infinite amount of energy. Studies conducted on SHN-82 have proven useless to discover where this energy derives from, with examinations of the object showing that no internal mechanics exist within its core. Additionally, the object seems to be indestructible, having survived explosions, high falls, and the collapse of an entire building on top of it. This prevents any further attempts to study its interior. Strangely, SHN-82's indestructibility does not make it heavy, as it can still be held in one hand by the average person.
The object's energy can be used in a multitude of different ways, but it has been primarily used as a weapon, or used to power one. The energy is released from its symbol when it is 'active.' It is considered 'active' when it is being held by a person or being manipulated by a machine, as it cannot release energy on its own accord. When used by either, it can produce wide energy beams and large energy spheres up to an unknown limit that can cleave through nearly any type of structure. It has been observed destroying buildings, cities, entire military blockades, and even penetrating the Earth's crust. Even small amounts of its energy have the equivalent strength of several tons of TNT. Through proper means, SHN-82's energy can be harnessed and contained for use as a long-lasting battery. From this, these batteries can power electronics such as smartphones and tablets for months or power large-scale workplaces for up to several weeks. SHN-82 itself can also be used as a power supply to give unlimited energy to whatever it is powering, as demonstrated during the Trinity Events when it was briefly used to power [REDACTED].
