Lynn's pov

I hated moving. I mean, I'm pretty sure most people do, but not my mom. You see, my parents had just gotten a divorce, and my mother decided that that was the perfect opportunity for a "fresh start". I was now living in a small house in Belleville, New Jersey. Fun.

I stepped outside. The neighborhood was small. Cute. Where I was going to be making memories for the remaining two and a half "best years of my life". Whoop dee fucking doo.

I sat on the stoop, waiting for something interesting to happen. Of course, being that this was some small neighborhood in a small town, nothing did. I didn't know what I was waiting for. We weren't even near any busy streets. After a while, I was ready to give up on waiting for nothing, when something did happen. That thing was called Alexa San Roman.

She was a pretty girl about my age, with shoulder length black hair that was bleached in the front and had a side shave. And she lived next door. It was your stereotypical new girl scenario. In other words, I was fucked.

She stepped outside from the house next door and immediately turned to face me. "Hey!" she yelled. "You live here now?"

"Oh, um, yeah," I replied as she made her way across the lawn. "My name's Lyndsey. Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, but most people just call me Lynn."

She nodded. "Right, well, Lyndsey, I'm Alexa San Roman, and my mum wants me to introduce myself. Not that I don't want to, but she's the one who told me to."

"Oh. Well, hi."

"Hey. So why did you move here?" she tilted her head to one side

"My parents divorced, so my mom and I moved from Massachusetts," I replied. She didn't seem phased by the divorce part, which was a change. It was nice.

"Oh, okay." she nodded. "Are you going to Belleville High?"

I laughed sharply. "I can't exactly afford any other type of school right now. Yeah, I'm a sophomore. Turning 16 in March."

"Cool. I'm a Junior. Turning 17 in July," she said, smiling slightly. "I have some friends your age. I could introduce you guys tomorrow morning before school."

I nodded. "Sure. It would be great to actually make some friends on the first day."

"Great! I'll walk you to school in the morning, then," she said, smiling. I couldn't help but blush as she did. She was really cute.

"Okay, sounds great," I replied, smiling back at her.

"So, I have to go to get dinner, but I'll meet you out here at 7:45 tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah, sounds good," I replied.

"Wait, before I go, let me get your number," she said. She jotted it into her arm as I told her. "Okay, bye."

"Bye," I called back as she walked across the yard.  She was really cute. But my mom didn't approve of that sort of thing, so I pushed the thought out of my head.

My mom had ordered pizza. Three boxes for the two of us. The fridge wasn't supposed to be set up for a while, so we had to live off of this until then.

I took a few slices and ran up to my new room. Earlier, I had found one of the neighbor's unlocked wifi connection, so I was set for waiting on the new wifi.

Though my room was somewhat set up, I still had to unpack my laptop. It was crammed at the bottom of a box of books. Whoopee.

I pulled out stacks of books, looking for my laptop. I did eventually get it, but the books. Too many to clean. Too tired. But not for tumblr.
