"I care about each and every one of you..and I'm here for you."
- Sean William McLoughlinChapter Twelve
Amber wandered down the hall, the bathrooms getting closer and closer. She looked for Jack, but couldn't spot him as she stopped in front of the girl's bathroom. She had a little smile on her face as she remembered their kiss. Sighing, she leaned against the wall and waited for him.
As time passed, she became more and more confused. She looked around, the distant noise of talking filling the air. She started pacing in front of the bathroom entrance, standing there and pulling out her phone. Maybe he decided to meet somewhere else?"I knew you'd come." A voice spoke out to Amber.
She froze once she realized it wasn't Jack's, not even close. A hand reached out and grabbed her elbow, roughly pulling her into the bathroom. A cry escaped Amber's throat in fear as she was pushed into a wall.
Her phone fell from her grip, tumbling to the ground just outside the door. She heard a giggle, and once she looked up, she saw who it was.
It was a girl around Amber's age. She was taller than Amber with blue eyes and shiny blonde hair. Her skin tan and her smile white. She had a sneer on her face, glaring into Amber.
Amber was beyond confused as she straightened up and took a step forward. The girl rolled her eyes and crossed her arms at her. Amber just wanted to leave and go back to class, anything but this. Her eyes flickered to a small group of other girls by the sinks, watching her with smirks on their faces."You probably don't know me, sweetie. You will though, in good time. Luke has mentioned me before. Does it ring a bell yet? I'm the girl who wants Jack, not you. I've tried way too hard to be pushed away by some...some..lowlife new student." She spat at Amber.
Amber resisted the urge to drop her mouth open. This was Sarah, this was the girl who Luke desperately wanted Jack to be with. If looks could kill, then Amber would already be dead.
Sarah smiled and walked in front of Amber, in front of the bathroom exit. Amber's stomach dropped as she saw them get near her. Amber gulped and shook her head, stepping back."N-No! This isn't fair. I didn't mean to do anything, he is the one who talked to me! I didn't mean to start anything please! I d-"
"You're such a little liar! Don't lie to me, Amber. I know the truth. Luke told me that you were all over Jack, flirting and getting him to like you. Luke told me that you laughed in his face when he told you that I liked him. That you'll do everything it takes to keep me away from him."
Her harsh words were like a slap in the face. Amber couldn't believe what she was hearing, they were all lies. Luke's face popped up in Amber's mind as she took another hesitant step backwards. Sarah was fuming, her teeth gritted and eyes narrowed. Amber didn't know how to handle this, she drew a blank.
"No, you've got it all wrong! Luke lied to you! He wasn't telling the truth! Please, you have to hear me out! This isn't fair, let me explain!"
Amber desperately tried to reason with her, but she soon realized it was no use. Sarah was beyond the point of listening, she believed Luke and not her.
"Bullshit, Amber. I'm tired of talking." Her voice dripped with venom as her friends surrounded Amber.
They worked fast in grabbed her wrists and holding her back from escaping. Amber gasped and tried tugging her grip free from them. They laughed and kept her restrained. Sarah walked up to her, getting close to her face.
