Chapter 11: The Prince Returns

(Tom's POV)

I opened the front door of my house, squinting as the morning sun struck my eyes. When I dared open my eyes again, there was a butterfly on my tie.

"Aw... hey little-" it flapped it's wings in my face, causing me to release a high-pitched scream. "You b*tch of a butterfly!" I sighed and watched as the butterfly glided away in the wind. A large crash sounded from behind me. "Terrance, I swear if you- oh you've got to be kidding me." Turning around, I came to see that a meteor crashed into my reactor. I moaned. 'I was going to go to the Twilight Forest today. Maybe Sparklez can fix it for me?' I took out my communicator, and called Sparklez. His face appeared on screen, with tired eyes and slightly disheveled hair.

     "Hey Tom."

"Hey Sparkly-Pants! You look terrible." He gave me a crooked smile.

"No doubt. I was up late last night."

"Ooh~! Did Sparkly-Butt get some action last night?" Sparklez's laughter rang through my communicator, and I couldn't help but let a few chuckles of my own escape into the air.

"No Tom, I didn't. Just couldn't sleep." He yawned, as if to back up his claim. "Any other reason you called besides being friendly?"

I rubbed my neck. "Uhh... about that. I need a favor."

     "What happened this time?"

"Well you see, I was admiring this butterfly, when a meteor came from behind me and sorta crushed my reactor. I was hoping you could fix it for me before I go out?"

"Sure. Didn't have anything special planned for today, anyways."

"Yes! Thanks bud. See you in half an hour."

"Wait, half an hour? Tom I need-" I ended the call and went off to find Terrance for a game of fetch or something. Anything to bide the time.

"Yo, Terrance!" I called. Soon after, he came bounding down the stairs with a rubber ball in hand. I took it from him, and we went outside. I closed the door behind us, then turned around and threw the ball as far as I could. He took off, and i couldn't help but laugh at his stubby little legs as he ran. He brought the ball back to me, and I tossed it closer this time. We continued that until he tripped and dropped it, sending it through my portal. "Aw damn it, Terrance!"

The sound of wings reached my ear, then Sparklez landed beside me. He looked a bit flushed, and was running his fingers through his messy black hair. "Alright, I'm here."

"Took you long enough!" Shaking his head, we walked over to where the meteor wreaked havoc on my reactor. "Here's the scene of the crime."

Sparked burst out laughing. "That is terrible luck you have there, my friend." I punched his arm.

"Just fix it, ya spoon!" He held his hands in surrender, and took some tools from his golden bag of holding before getting to work on reconstructing it. I left him to it, and jumped through my portal to try and find Terrance's rubber ball.
