Dylan Carter
I walked home today. I usually ride the bus home but today, I don't feel like riding the bus.
'I'll be walking home today. Home at 5. Love you.'
I texted my mom so she would know I'm fine.
I thought of buying ice cream on the way. So, I passed by Marty's Ice Cream Place. My favorite place for dessert. And the place my dad used to take me every Monday. We called it, Marty Mondays.
"One Berry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream please." I said to the lady in the counter. After a few minutes, she handed me my ice cream. "Thank you!" I said and left the store.
It was 3:58. I decided to pass by Sean's place before heading home.
Hey dude I'll crash with you before heading home. Hope it's cool.
I texted Sean. He replied quicker than a hare.
Sure bro. Can't wait. I found an easter egg in the second Strike Force game.
I was excited. We've spent nearly our whole Strike Force life finding easter eggs in the game. Finally, my bro found one.
I passed by Hikers' Grove. It was 6 minutes away from Sean's house, on foot that is. But, on the way, I saw the familiar looking girl, she was sitting on a bench, reading.
I approached her. "Uh hey." I said. She looked up and stared. "Umm.....hi?" We just stared at each other for a while. I felt awkward so I decided to break the silence. "So...I saw you at school today. And you looked kind of familiar. Have we met?" I decided to just cut to the chase rather than making things awkward. "Uh yeah I was at school. All kids go to school." She replied. I couldn't tell if she was trying to sound intimidating or annoyed. "Oh right of course." I felt stupid. That was obviously true. "Let me start again. Eherm. What school do you go to?" She laughed and seemed sheepish. "Well. I go to Brandon King High. I'm guessing that's where you saw me." I smiled and sat down next to her. Then we talked and talked. Soon, it was 4:30, I had to get home.
"Hey. I have to go. But I'll see you at school ok?" I sounded as if I was interested in her. She smiled. "Sure thing." Then she stood and left.
I looked at the bench and saw her book. It was The Odd Days of Love by Hilary Quinn. I didn't think she was into these kind of books. But, I got it and place it in my bag. I'll just give it tomorrow at school. Then I smiled for no reason and walked home.
As I got home, I headed straight for my room. I couldn't stop thinking about that awkward moment with her. Then I completely forgot about passing by Sean's place.
Hey bro. Completely forgot I was going to your place. Got distracted otw there. Just take a picture and show me at school tomorrow.
I felt bad. I told Sean I'll be there but I never went. Sad.
It's cool bro man. I showed to Carlos instead. I'll show you @ school tom. Nyt m8.
I was about to reply....but I fell asleep.
