I carried the man to my house and placed him gently on my couch, not knowing if there were any more thorns on his back and lower region.
I covered him up with one of my blankets, noticing on the way back that he was quite cold. The blanket was going to be soaked in blood but I'd just a get a new one. That's when I realized I too was covered in blood.
After I changed into a grey sweater I got a cup of coffee and watched the man who was knocked out cold, studying him. Where in the world did he come from and why was he in a thorn bush? Why is his eye grey? Let's just hope he's not another lunatic.
Halfway through my cup of coffee I got up and got my first aid kit, figuring that he was going to wake up soon and be in a lot of pain. I started with his arms and uncovered them from the blanket, cleaning the dried blood and treating his wounds gently, picking off thorns that were still stuck in him.
He surprisingly didn't stir until around midnight. When he did his face contorted into gestures of pain. His bandages were wrapped around him pretty tight, so I could see how it might hurt a bit. I took the time to take off his shirt earlier and dress all of his wounds on his chest to. I rolled up his pant legs as far as they could go and cleared him of any foreign bodies. I also wrapped a few large slits that he had up his legs.
I watched his eyes open slowly, fluttering and adjusting to the bright lights of my living room. After a few seconds of comprehension his pupils dilated as smaller than I'd ever seen anyone's been before.
"Where am I" he sat up quickly looking around. "Your at my house, I brought you here after I found you caught in a thorn bush. You knocked out when you tried to walk then fell on your face and went out like a light."
I could see him relax when I spoke, his pupils going back to normal size and his breathing normally continued. "Oh" he said sinking back into the couch, his tone almost sounding dissapointed.
"How did you get out there?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me. "I... I honestly don't remember" he said softly scratching his head, making his messy bedhead worse. "All I remember is ending up in a thorn bush and you coming to my rescue."
I stood up and took my cup of coffee to the kitchen, heating up some leftover food, he must be starving after being stuck there for almost a full day. He was also incredibly skinny, I could see his rib cage when I was patching up his chest and stomach. Maybe he had an eating disorder?
When it had finished heating up I took the food and made him sit up to eat it. "Here, might want to eat something, you're already really skinny, and on top of that being trapped in thorns for sixteen hours doesn't help." I said handing it to him.
He looked down at his very thin, bandaged, chest and back to the food. "Yah I guess so..." he played with the fork and messed with his meal, obviously not interested.
"If you don't mind me asking" I said as he played with the food. "What's you name?"
