I had been working on a small
project for a few days in my work room when my friend decided to come into the room, with a smug look in his eyes and a smirk plastered on his face. "Heya watcha doin nerd, I'm bored" he blurted, as if there were no such thing as an inside voice. "How many times have I told you not to come in my work room while I'm in here." I growled. "How many times have I told you that I don't care" he remarked, still smiling.

I sighed and spun around in my chair to face him. "Fine, if you insist on knowing, I'm working on a project." He looked over my shoulder "Making...a tie?" He said confused. "No" I said dully. "This tie, and with it's match can control a person's speach and actions. So no, its not just 'a tie'" I remarked, mimicking his tone. "Oh...." he said. "How does it work?"

"Well if you took this tie and put it on someone, and you put on its match and twisted a control on the backside of it then you could control that person." I explained scientifically. "And is it done?" He asked. "Yah, pretty much but I fear that their may be a few kinks with it"

That was all he needed to hear before he snatched up both ties, swung one around me and put the other one on him. "Wait a minute!-" was all I could say before he turned the dial and I wasn't in control anymore.

Curiously my friend rose a hand in the air, making me do the same. A grin grew on his face, putting out his middle finger. Now for me it was a bit different, having six fingers and all. But I suppose that didn't stop me from flicking him off indirectly.

I wanted to kill him at the moment, he knew how I felt about profanity. I believed some of it was alright, but other words were just harsh. 'Don't you dare' I thought, him obviously getting what I meant because a grin larger than any other had grown on his face. "Fuck. You." He stated, making me say the same. The words felt disgusting coming from my mouth, like I needed to wash my tounge with soap now.

He began to laugh uncontrollably, but for some reason I didn't do the same... the tie must have broke! Happy for once that one of my projects didn't work I strolled over to him, ready to give him a good punch in the gut.

Realizing that I wasn't under his control anymore he let out a cry of fear after seeing my face and ran off. Needless to say I couldn't find him for the rest of the day.

The only trace I could find of him was the tie he was wearing back in my room with a note that read. "It's defective, come on I thought you were smarter than this you nerd." I smiled, setting the note aside and beginning to work on my project once again.
