Paige's POV
I lay in bed, me and Miranda needed a day away from each other and so did me and Jack. I mean we are going to be crammed in the same house for like 2 weeks really soon.
My door opens and my mom walks in with a tray of pancakes topped with whipped cream. "You didn't have to." I laugh.
"I got bored. And when I get bored I bake." She sits down on my bed next to me, "what's going through your mind pumpkin?"
"I'm leaving New Jersey soon, I can't believe it." I take the tray of food from my mom and place it on my bed.
"I can't believe it either. I'm going to miss you lots." She kisses my forehead.
"I'll visit, Skype lots, calls weekly. Don't worry." I smile.
"Can you tell me in your words why you all of a sudden wanted to leave with dad?" She asks.
"You can't get mad." I say.
"I won't." She smiles.
"I felt like you started losing trust in me, your daughter. I felt like I wasn't being the best daughter I could."
"I've lost trust in almost everyone as of right now, it's just a hard time. And you're the best daughter anyone could ever ask for." She kisses my forehead one last time before leaving my room.
My phone goes off so I grab it from under my pillow,
*texts*
Nash- hey it's Matt, heard you were moving to LA and wanted to say goodbye. possibly in person.
Me- umm yea sure. when's a good time?
Matt- when are you free?
Me- well I was just about to eat some pancakes but they can wait
Matt- meet me in the park
I put my phone in my shorts pocket and put on a light hoodie. I carry the tray of pancakes back to the kitchen, "I'll be back in a bit. Just going to see some friends." I tell my mom before leaving.
*at the park*
I sit on a bench and wait for Matt to show up, I think it's a good idea to actually say goodbye to him.
"Hey." I hear him approach me.
"Hey." I stand up and give him a hug.
"Why are you moving?" He sits down on the bench and I join.
"Parents are getting a divorce and my dad got a job offer in LA so I wanted to move close to my friends." I shrug my shoulders.
"Quite a long way away."
"Well yea." I laugh.
"So I heard about you and Jack." He says.
"I thought this was a goodbye thing?"
"No, no, it is. But are you dating Jack?"
"Why does it matter Matt?"
"I don't know."
"Ok, like come on. Me and you, we are friends. I want it to stay like that, in a good way. You're a great friend." I smile.
"Thanks Paige, you are too." Matt's phone buzzes, "I've gotta go. Have a safe trip back."
I stand up with Matt and give him a hug before he leaves, "thank you."
"Anytime, I'm always a text away."
