Rory Gilmore meet Laura Marinaro

Rory's POV

6:45. I'm early. Maybe I should just wait outside. No. Stop it. Just knock. All it takes a a repetitive flick of your wrist hitting the wood to make the sound.

Okay. I'm going to do it. One. Two. Three.

Knock Knock Knock

I did it.

The door opens, but it's not him. It's a women. Shit. Does he have a girlfriend? Was that why he wanted to meet here?

"You must be Rory. I'm Sam, Jess will be out in a minute." She then bends her back towards me just slightly and covers her mouth with her hand. "You are in for the suprize of a century." Sam whispers to me.

Even bigger than a woman opening his door? Well then that must be one shocker right there.

"Let her in Sam! I'll be right out in a second."

"Okay Mr. Marinaro."

Mr. Marinaro? Well either Jess has gone into some kinky shit or this isn't a girlfriend. I'm gonna go with the latter.

The mystery woman gestures me inside and I take a seat on the couch a few feet away from me.

I'm about to start looking around the room whenever Jess appears from a room. Not just Jess, but Jess and a small child in his arms.

"Rory, I'd like you to meet Laura."

"Is she.. Is she your's?" I managed to stammer out. I can't read his eyes, they seem to have many emotions playing at once. They look like pride, joy, and doubt, but I can't be sure.

"Yeah, that she is. I uh actually named her Laura after you. I've always loved the name Lorelai and Laura is as similar as I could get. Uhm I've never actually told anyone that and as you can tell I'm kind of nervous so things are just sorta popping out of my mouth without warning. So uhm yeah."

I just stand there gaping at him and the only thing I can think to say is "Can I hold her?"

I can tell that's not what he was expecting, but he nods and slowly hands her to me. She has his eyes and she will definitely be blessed with a strong jawbone thanks to her father.

"She looks just like you."

"So I've been told." He tells me as I hand her back to him. "So uh what are you thinking."

"I'm thinking that you're a great father. Where's her mom?" He looks sad as I ask, but answers anyways.

"She left after a week. I've been raising Laura on my own ever since."

"Well she's beautiful. You've done a great job Jess."

"Thanks Ror. I'm actually really really happy you're okay with this. I was so worried that you were going to freak out.."

"I think it's great. I mean I know the circumstances surrounding her weren't the best, but you made the best out of it. Just like my mom did with me. And I am so proud of you for that Jess."

He smiles in response. I feel such an urge to kiss him. I restrict myself for this moment. Just then I relise Sam is still standing there. The relization is followed by her speaking.

"I'll take Laura from here sir." She says as she takes the baby from Jess's possession. "You two have a great night!" She yells as she's halfway out the door.

So she's the babysitter. That makes so much sense now.
