HIYA! Long week huh?! Super duper tired and have a even more tiring weekend to follow! :P I'm  gonna try my best with this chapter because i love you guys and I need to fulfill my promise. I know I'm doing a lot of parts of the Descendants right now, and you want to know what's going on with Amedeo, but that part is a bit more complicated and might come around next weekend. I wanted to leave you guys off with a nice bitter sweet romance part sprinkled with upcoming drama. ;) So enjoy!

What was love?

Was it that pang in my chest every time I saw her?

Was it the rush of blood, coursing through my head

Was it the never ending thoughts about her?

Her hair, her laugh, smile, her eyes, her smirk, her quirky bookworm ways? Her golden heart?

Was it her heart that drew me in like sugar to a bee?

That isn't love you silly boy.

Then what is love? The mushy feeling you get when you see the girl? the feeling that you wanted her. And only her. No one else.

That wasn't love. That was just desiring someone.

That isn't love either. Now stop daydreaming about her and start getting some things done.

I would never do anything to hurt her. Or Ace. Or Amy.

Right now, they were my only family.

But of course they didn't know that.

They assumed that I had my parents. That my parents still loved me, but that wasn't true. I guess all our parents had to have a way to get rid of us. Was it fate we met? Or was it pure coincidence? Could Amy's death threats have come from anyone, or someone from the kingdom, or just fate, Wanting to drive us together. Herding Amy, Ace, and Eli together like sheep, ready for slaughter.

No. I wasn't going to think of that. Not of death. Not that evil could be hiding behind any corner. Ready to strike us.

Isidore already made me explode once. I was felt extremely guilty, Eli was sobbing into Ace's back, with Amy glaring daggers at Eli.

And I was the cause for that. I had to apologize.

"You will not apologize. Eli is a spoiled brat. Amy is a constantly jealous girl. And all Ace wants is to take everything you have away from you." snarled Isidore.

Right. Wasn't Eli that girl that came from a wealthy family? Always loved and kept warm? Sung to every night, never hungry.

No. That wasn't right.

Eli was the girl with the heart of gold. Who loved books. Who wanted nothing more than to be simply happy. And never center of attention.

There was a thin line, which I was walking along perilously, trying not to fall off. The thin line of love.

I think I love her. My heart started to beat faster when she was near. I was jealous whenever she hugged Ace.

"The hotel should be by the next corner. We will give our horses to the stableman and then go inside. I just hope no one will question how filthy we look." called out Rose.

"Did you hear that Eli?" Ace said gently to Eli, who was clutching him like a koala to a tree. "We are almost there. Finally some food and a warm bed."

Eli sniffed and buried her head into his back.

"Pathetic." I growled.

"Stop Nick. You are being an arse. Can't you see you broke her in half already? Do you want to hurt her even more?!" snapped Ace, glaring at me.
