"Great! Who else is going to watch her?! No one else wants to waste their time watching a puny human!" ,she exclaimed, "I have to go talk to Master. Keep watching her and stay out of sight."
With that, May ran off, leaving me with my thoughts.

She sighed, gathering up her stuff and getting ready for school.
It has been a week since she saw the stranger in the woods. A week since someone besides herself has heard her voice. A week since she saw the fangs. A week she had been thinking about him.
She was pretty sure he wasn't human. She pondered the thought of a supernatural.
She put her backpack on and clipped the straps across her chest.
"December, wait! Can you give me a ride to school? My car is in the shop again." Cassidy pleaded, hugging herself to stay warm.
December looked at her older sister. Even in winter, she wore her ridiculously short cheerleading skirt.
December nodded and gave a pointed look at her sister.
"What? Britney says we have to wear our uniforms at school!" Cassidy objected, holding tight to December as they raced down the street. December thought she saw a flash of black to her right. Black. The stranger wore black.
"December? December? Are you listening to me?" Cassidy yelled over the wind.
December shook her head and motioned toward her ear.
"Both hands! Both hands!" Cassidy screeched, holding onto December's waist even tighter.
She giggled at Cassidy and sped up before she pulled into the school parking lot.
Cassidy stumbled off the motorcycle.
"Remind me not to get a ride from you again." She mumbled as she walked over to the other cheerleaders and football players.
December smiled at her retreating sister as she put her keys into her pocket.
~~~~~
The day flashed by, nothing spectacular happening.
December decided to have an alone day instead of hanging out with Cassidy again.
'I'm going 2 da library & then da park 2 draw. Have fun with da cheerleaders.' She texted Cassidy.
'K b careful' Cassidy responded.
~~~~~
She pulled up to the library and unclipped her backpack and pulled out a few books from it. Before she could drop the books into the book deposit, a shadow crept up on her. She froze, the books dropping to the ground instead.
"Well if it isn't the mute freak?" a voice sneered from behind her. "Where you been hiding? Hmmm?"
The owner of the voice leaned forward so their lips were near December's ear.
"You shouldn't hide from me, you know."
She took a shaky breath and leaned toward her chalkboard.
"Please leave me alone, Chase" she wrote in wobbly handwriting.
He leaned over her shoulder and looked at the board. He smiled and let his hands slip around her waist.
"Now what would be the fun in that?" he whispered.
She pushed him away and crouched down to pick up her fallen books. She heard him chuckle as he walked away. She sighed, stopping for a moment.
Chase was always like that. He would mock her then get close to her then leave. She was used to it. He had been playing with her like that since 8th grade. It didn't help that he was absolutely handsome. His blond hair and grey eyes were breathtaking.
She dropped the books off then sped toward the park.
As she hopped off the motorcycle at the park, she walked to her bench.
The park was a beautiful place. It was wide and spacious with a playground and swings in one corner and a pond in the other. The pond was where December drew. When she was upset she would sit down and her hands would draw. Sometimes she would be thinking about something and she would look down and see a drawing describing exactly what she thought.
She put her color pencils and art pencils on the bench to either side of her. She tried to think about random things but her thoughts alway drifted to the stranger or Chase.
She looked at her sketchbook. A detailed picture of the stranger's fangs was there. The sharpness and pure white color made them look real. But what disturbed her was the fact that she had drawn the fangs dripping with blood. She frowned as she picked up her color pencils and leaned closer as she colored the blood so perfectly that it looked as if she might stain her finger if she touched it.
"Wow that's amazing." a voice said from behind her. She whipped around to see a boy about 15 looking at her drawing.
She nodded in thanks and turned back to face the pond.
"How'd you think of that?" he asked sitting down on the bench.
She pulled out a chalkboard and wrote "I have a strange mind that thinks crazy thoughts. What do you want?"
He read what she wrote and blushed lightly. "I've heard you are an amazing artist and you are. I just wanted to see your drawing myself. I draw a little too."
December's whole demeanor went from to cold to welcoming. So he wasn't there to make fun of her.
"Well draw something." she wrote, flipping to a new page in her sketchbook.
"Ummm......." he thought for a moment before drawing a mirror image of December.
"Good job. What's your name?" she wrote.
The boy smiled "Adrian."
"If you want, I can help you with your drawing."
Adrian beamed as he read her note.
"Sure! Should I meet you here tomorrow, same time?" He asked, getting up and walking backwards toward the soccer fields.
December nodded. Just maybe he would be her friend.
She saw a flicker of black out of the corner of her eye. She turned toward it. The stranger was leaning against a tree, watching her. She tore out the picture of the dripping fangs and signed the corner, leaving it on the bench.
As soon as December got home, she heard giggles coming from the kitchen as she trudged upstairs. She shook her head, thinking of the cheerleaders.
