I can't.
But I can.
She closed the distance and pressed her lips to mine.

December's P.O.V.
Sparks flew as I pressed my lips against his. I leaned closer to him and stayed like that for a few seconds.
Stranger pulled away and took a deep breath.
"December...."
"I know." I whispered.
Dear god, this vampire has made me talk more than I have for thirteen years.
"Are you hungry? You skipped breakfast." He said suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence.
No.
He frowned and stood up. "C'mon."
I took his outstretched hand and he pulled me up.
The sun had rose and was full in the sky. Light danced across his hand and he pulled away quickly. He put on a pair of leather gloves that covered his hands completely and put on a pair of sunglasses.
"Do you want me to carry you? We'll get there faster." Stranger said, turning away.
I felt the edges of my mouth pull down slightly and I thought, Sure.
"'Kay." He lifted me bridle-style and took off.
When we stopped we were standing outside of a club.
I think I might be a tad underdressed. I thought, looking down at my penguin pajamas.
"I'm only stopping for something. Follow me."
The club was open but there wasn't much need to be. A few people were at the bar and dance music played quietly to a empty dance floor.
Stranger walked straight to an 'Employee Only' door.
A hallway stretched out in front of us, the dark colors and dim lights cast an eerie look.
Doors flashed on either side as I jogged to keep up with Stranger.
Stranger is acting strange. I grumbled mentally. Stupid vampire.
He stopped abruptly, causing me to bump into him.
"Oof!" I fell backwards and landed hard on my bum.
Stranger cracked a smile and pulled me up by hand.
"Watch your step."
He opened the door and stepped into the dark room.
Stranger? I called to him, nervously peeking inside the pitch black room.
"Come on in." his voice was deep and spooky.
I don't want to.
"M'kay."
Two hands shot out and pulled me in by my waist.
A short scream ripped from my throat, cut off by a warm liquid that was pushed in my mouth.
I swallowed automatically and almost moaned at taste of the salty sweet drink.
"I knew it!" Stranger yelled, a crash sounded to my right.
I jumped slightly and pressed myself against the door, wiping my mouth with my sleeve.
Civilized move, December. What's wrong Stranger?
"You're..... You're changing to quickly." His voice echoed softly from a corner.
I'm what?
"You just drank blood and you have your ability already. By tomorrow you'll be stronger and faster, lightning reflexes. By Friday, your sight and hearing will be enhanced. At the end of that day, you'll die."
I could feel my eyes widen as I sank to the floor.
"A day too early." Stranger added, his voice sounding closer.
The dark place that I had gone to before crept at the edges of my conciseness.
"Please don't leave." his voice came from right I front of me, his breath fanning my face.
"I won't." I said aloud, my voice raw and sweet. "I won't leave you, Stranger. I would never."
"December. Why are you talking?" He pulled me into his lap and I curled up.
"Because its time. If I'm about to be handed over to someone that is about to let you kill yourself and obviously terrified May, then I will speak my mind. I won't go down with out a fight." I said, determined.
Stranger's green eyes seemed to glow slightly as he stared me down, his shades gone.
"Then I'll teach you. You'll need to defend yourself."
"That's a big risk. Thank you."
We sat in silence, him hugging me to his chest and me tracing random patterns on his chest.
"Why won't you tell me your name?" I blurted before I could stop myself. "Sorry you don't-"
"It's okay. If you knew my name, first of all, it would be hard to control my inner demon. Also, if Master knew you knew my name he would beat me to the edge of death then let me heal and torture me, let me heal again and start over." His voice was bitter.
"I'm sorry. Can you turn the lights on?" I whispered.
"Of course."
Stranger stood up and the frigid felling left as he stepped away.
The lights turned on, blinding me for a moment.
When I was as to open my eyes without squinting, I scanned the room.
It looked like the feeding rooms.
"Stranger, why are we at the feeding rooms?" I asked, finding my way back to the door, my hand resting on the handle.
"I told you you drank blood, your body has already given up on human food. It relies on blood now. What you drank already wasn't enough." He was walking slowly towards me, like I was an animal about to run.
"What do you...." my voice trailing off when I saw the girl laying unconscious on the dark red couch.
"December. You need to drink." Stranger reached for my hand.
I yanked it away from him, my eyes locked on the girl.
"I forgot to tell you." I started, ripping my gaze from the girl and examining Stranger's face, the sunglasses missing and his hood down. "My vision is already enhanced."
He took a sharp breath and his hand dropped.
"Then you have even less time. You'll die by noon on Friday. a day and a half too early." he walked away from me and picked up the girl in his arms.
Stranger looked at me from the other side of the room. When he smiled, two pure white fangs grazed his lower lip.
"Stranger. No."
I could see it in his eyes. He was going to make me drink, whether I liked it or not.
