"Hop on." Stranger leaned down and I held on tight to his neck as he straightened up and followed Adrian, easily catching up.
What have I gotten myself into?

They stopped at December's house after a few minutes.
Adrian raced through the door, making it fall off its hinges.
December frowned as she slid off Stranger's back. She felt him shiver when their shirts rode up and her belly rubbed against his back. She gave him an odd look as she walked by him. Stranger stayed stone-faced as he followed her into the house.
"Where's the first aide kit?" he said, laying Freya on the unused dining room table.
December sprinted upstairs and pulled out a first aide kit from under her bed. When she got downstairs, she found Freya shirtless. Shaking her head, opened the kit and pulled out alcoholic wipes, gauze, and painkillers.
She ran to the kitchen and brought out a wet towel. December wondered where the supernaturals were as she wiped away the blood that covered Freya's side and front.
The two large, gaping holes in Freya's neck were covered up by gauze by the time the supernaturals got back.
"That was fast." Adrian said walking into the dining room.
Stranger nodded in approval at the gauze while December rolled her eyes.
She tapped her wrist then held up her hands. One had her fingers splayed, thumb bent, the other had her showed her middle finger, making the number 14 while flipping them off at the same time.
Adrian choked on laughter. "Feisty!!"
Stranger carried Freya and laid her down on the couch.
December wrote on the chalkboard on the wall. "Explanation time."
Stranger and Adrian looked at each other before settling in around the room.
Adrian sat on the couch with Freya's head in his lap. He played with her hair, avoiding December's cold eyes.
Stranger sat on a beige loveseat and December sat next to him, their hips touching.
He stiffened. She smiled, leaning into his shoulder. Stranger stood abruptly and sat in the recliner, opposite the loveseat.
"First question, why the hell are you stalking me?" December wrote.
"I had orders." Stranger said.
Why is he so distant? He wasn't like this in the woods. She thought, aiming her next question at Adrian.
"Why did you meet me at the park?"
"Like I said, I admire you. Your life is rough and is only going to get worse. You needed a friend. And now you have two.........and a stalker." Adrian watched December's reaction.
She nodded slowly, mulling over what they said. Orders? From who?
"Who is 'Master'"
"He is going to be your creator."
"My what?" she gawped.
Stranger reached over and took her chalk. He handed the crumpled drawing of the fangs dripping blood.
"He is going to turn you and you will be his."
She looked from him to the picture. Producing another piece of chalk, she wrote, "You kept that?"
He ducked his head, not meeting her curious gaze or Adrian's knowing one.
"Why me?" her hand shook slightly on the table.
"I honestly have no idea. I'm the newest. I just started last month."
"Wait what? Others have watched me?"
"Yes. Since you turned 15."
"Nope." December wrote in big letters and glared defiantly at the vampire. When he looked closer, he saw it was a mask. She was terrified.
She hyperventilated. All the days at the library when she thought she was alone. The days at the park when she drew her heart out. The days she spent with her sister, doing crazy things together.
The day she met Stranger. The day Adrian approached her. The day at the library with Chase.
Watched. Observed. Documented. Stalked. Followed. Pursued. All these thoughts and memories whirled through December's mind. She forgot she was in room as it faded away, leaving her floating in darkness.
"December? December?" Adrian got down in front of the girl. Her eyes stayed staring forward, glassy and lifeless. He waved his hand in front of her face before turning to Stranger.
"What the f🎶 did you do to her, man? She isn't responding."
"She's remembering every time she thought no one was there. It is always hard for humans." He said, looking sadly at her.
"It might not have been so hard if you had been a little warmer to her." Adrian settled back on the couch.
"You know I can't be. May would know."
