To say Ichigo was depressed would be an understatement. He locked himself in his room, and was curled up on his his bed. If that wasn't enough to prove depression an understatement, he had been crying and only left the room when his family was out of the house. All he did during that time was sit on the couch, crying and eating ice cream (Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy), in pajamas while watching The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, or Bridge to Terabithia.

Whenever he had started to feel better, he looked back on what he had done to get over it, and he was reminded of why Rukia had broken up with him in the first place. She had stated that he wasn't "manly" enough for her taste.

*Flashback*

"Rukia? Are you okay?" Ichigo asked his girlfriend, as he stepped into his room with a tray of double chocolate chip cookies he had made earlier that day.

"I'm fine, Ichi~chan." Rukia responded as she hesitantly reached for one of the cookies on the tray. " I think we need to talk, though."

Ichigo frowned at her words, but kept silent as she talked.

"When you fight, or when you're warming up to people you . . . ah . . . you seem masculine and mysterious. When you do that, it's hot." Rukia started to explain to him. Ichigo looked at her with his usual oblivious look. "When you get to know people enough, you let your shell fall. You cook and bake, and you never let people leave until you go all mother hen on them. You turn opposite to what people originally thought of you. What I'm saying . . . is that you're not the person I thought you were. I don't want to date the non-masculine you. I'm breaking up with you."

Ichigo was about to say something, but he couldn't speak as Rukia shunpoed away.

*End Flashback*

And whatever he did to get over her, just reminded him of how feminine he could act. It reminded him of how much he had tried to hide . . . well . . . himself; from the world, from his world.

What if he was himself all the time? Would people accept him for him? . . . Would it hurt to try? Possibly. But . . . What's the point of living if you don't try anything?

Ichigo smiled to himself, knowing exactly what his plans were for tomorrow.

*The next day*

"Breakfast!" Ichigo's voice rang through the house, waking everybody up.

"Ni~san, I haven't made anything." Yuzu stated in a worried tone.

Ichigo shook his head, and set the food in front of his sisters. Then he sat and stared until they had started eating.

"Ni~san, who made this?" Yuzu asked her brother, startled by the delicious taste of the food.

"I made it." Ichigo replied with an unusual grin. Catching the confused looks on his sisters faces, he went into an explanation. "I decided that I'm done hiding me. If today goes well, then there may be some major changes."

The two young girls nodded, before continuing to eat their breakfast.

*At School*

"Kurosaki~kun, good mourning!" Orihime exclaimed as she bounced into the classroom.

"Good morning, Orihime. How was your night?" He replied with a grin.

"Are you okay?" She asked the carrot top.

"I'm fine." he replied, sitting down in his seat for the lesson.

"Hello, class! We have a new student today, and we'll be talking about LGBT(Q[QQ])!" Mrs. Ochi exclaimed as a student entered the room.

"Hello, my name is Aosaki Kaze. I'm from Tokyo." The male who had walked into the room stated.

The school uniform fit him better than it did most people. His light blue hair (which had purple tips) fell over one eye, but left the other alone completely. His figure was more built then Ichigo's, but not by much. He had black rimmed glasses, and could probably turn any guy gay or any lady straight if he had wanted to. Ichigo couldn't help but blush as the teacher told Kaze to sit next to him. Kaze waved at him, and Ichigo waved back before turning to look out the window.

"I'm sorry if any of you are offended by what I'm going to say, but the school has opted to demote LGBT rights at our school." Mrs. Ochi explained with a frown. "The school wants me to tell you that homosexuality is bad for the population, because it will cause it to decrease, and they think that the population will eventually die out."

"But that would be a good thing, to lower the population." Ishida's voice sounded through the room.

"Yes, but the school wants me to convince you that it's wrong. They also said that if I found out that any of you are LGBT, that I'd have to send you to the principal's office at once." She told them, tone sad.

"But, Sensei! That's discrimination." Ichigo exclaimed in fury.

Mrs. Ochi nodded, before continuing the lesson. Many students spoke out against or for the words that the teacher was being forced to say. When she had showed the video, and stated the statistics and facts against the LGBT population she started to read passages from the bible. She continued with her words, though she was sad that at least six or seven of her students in the group she was speaking against, had to sit through the lesson. By the end of class, a good portion of the class was smiling and making jokes, a part were just silent, and the rest were all shaking slightly. Who wouldn't after hearing your teacher discriminate against your likings as a lesson. She dismissed them to lunch.

*Rooftop group*

"Hey, everyone!" Ichigo exclaimed as the group walked onto the roof.

"Hello, Kurosaki," "Hey, Ichigo,"  and "Hello, Kurosaki~kun," chorused through the crowd. Surprisingly, Keigo didn't jump towards him. "Ao~kun is having lunch with us today."

Ichigo smiled towards them, before starting to eat the lunch he had made for himself. He looked around at everyone eating their lunch in silence before they would start to talk. He noticed that one person wasn't eating though. "Kaze, are you hungry?"

"Yeah, but I don't know how to cook, and I don't want school lunch either. I'm broke." He replied while looking at the sky.

"You can have the other one I packed, okay?" Ichigo told him, grabbing the other meal from his bag.

"I couldn't, we just met today." The blue haired male denied, staring at the delicious looking food.

Ichigo rolled his eyes, before quickly placing the lunch on the other's lap. When Kaze tried to give it back, he glared at him. "You - mister - need the nutrients in that lunch if you want to stay healthy."

Kaze rolled his eyes. "Fine, mother."

"Hey!" The carrot top exclaimed, taking offense to the comment.

"You are being a bit of a mother hen, Ichigo." Tatsuki told him, chuckling.

Ichigo looked away from his friends, his eyes tearing at the thought of Rukia's words. Were his friends not going to accept him because of how he acted? All he had wanted was one day to show his true colors, and he was trying to express himself, but now even his friends and the new kid were mocking him. Should he shield himself from the world . . . or not?

"Ichi?" Some one asked.

"That's part of the reason why Rukia broke up with me." He whimpered out, pathetically.

"Rukia broke up with you?" Orihime exclaimed, angry but happy at the same time. Maybe she had a chance now.

"Yeah, she said that she didn't want to date someone as non-masculine as me." Ichigo frowned. "She doesn't like that I cook or bake or mother hen people."

"This Rukia person sounds like a terrible person." Kaze commented, his brown eyes looking forward in defiance. "I've only known you for a few hours, but you're probably one of the best people I've met, Ichigo."

"Thanks, Ao~kun." Ichigo smiled, his heart fluttering in his chest. Maybe he and Kaze would be great friends.
