Chapter 10
"And here we have the kitchen, more than big enough for the two of you, it has extra cabinet space and stainless steel appliances just as you asked Liam." The real estate agent babbled on making googly eyes at my Liam. Look at her trying to impress my fiancé with her short office skirt with a steep split on both sides, indigo top that matches her six inch heels but terribly coordinates with her auburn hair and harsh makeup.
Her heels clicked roughly against the unfurnished house and she directs us to slide doors but she doesn't open them. "I've chosen a location that includes a pool and hot tub, you can see from here a bar area for when you have some of your band mates over or friends..."
Um, hellooo does she not see me standing right here, pregnant, and engaged to him.
"I'mnot sure your really capturing the essence of what we need as first time home owners." I speak aloud for the first time since entering this house I could easily entitle 'man cave'.
"I'm sure Liam has owned a house before." She jokes, grinning and Liam returns it, not seeming all too flattered with the direction the conversation was going in.
"Yes he has that is why I say 'we'." I day a little more firmly this time. My patience has been running thin with this lady ever since the first day of house hunting.
"Well i was just offering something that Liam could still enjoy..."
"That's quite kind of you but Liam is now engaged and expecting a young one, these houses your showing us aren't the type we want to raise a family in." I say straight in. Enough with the bull, my feet are swollen, I'm craving bagels with jam and pickles, and i'm cold. Right now is not the moment to have a misunderstanding with a pregnant woman.
"Mrs.Payne, i understand your concern but you guys are a young couple, you still need a bit of fun in your life, being first time parents shouldn't stop you from doing your daily activities.
The nerve she has. Telling us how to run our lives.
"Oh, sure but i'll keep your number handy so when my kid learns how to walk and falls into the pool you can pay the hospital bills and charges pressed against you."
He face grows still at my bluntness, her eyes wide and she turns to Liam.
"Can I have a moment to speak with my fiancé alone please." He asks kindly before the conversation turns worst. Of course she obliges and splatters a wide and fake grin without any comments and leaves the room with her phone in her hand.
I huff turning to face Liam. "Did you see her attitude?" I ask almost appalled.
He doesn't answer but instead pulls me in slowly for an embrace. I feel the goosebumps all along my legs and arms peel off like bandages loosing there sticky texture and i feel the warmth pour into my body like a cup of warm milk filling me till the top.
"Take a deep breathe for me babe." His sweet voice murmurs into my hair.
"Liaaammm" I whine.
"Doooo it." He mimics my tone.
I take a deep breathe in his favor and he lifts his face, honey brown eyes looking into my soul for a moment through my eyes. He leans in, his puffy wet lips sliding into perfect sync with mine once they touch.
Once we pull away i find myself once again mesmerized by this mans perfectly good looks. Soft cheeks covered in his stubble, silky hair growing out resulting in him combing his hair back. Navy blue peacoat and a cream scarf. I bit the corner of my bottom lip as i observed him. His lively laugh shoots me out of my daze and i smile, playfully pushing his shoulder.
"I see what your thinking Mia." He teases wiggling his eyebrows.
He leans into my ear and lowers his voice, His arm wrapping around my lower back slightly resting on my behind.
"Even after i get you pregnant you still want more of me." I gasp but laugh right after failing to seemed surprised because in all honesty Liam's spicy comments were becoming a repetitive thing but i didn't mind.
"I have an idea for this house situation..." Liam says taking both of my hands into his and trying to warm them.
"Well go on and tell because my feet are getting sore."
"I was thinking we choose a house, nothing too big, nothing too small and I just renovate."
I don't answer right away but instead i just think. It is a great idea, finding a house and making it our own since this obviously wasn't going too well.
"That sounds nice, but how long will it take. I don't know if i can handle being back and forth fixing up a house and not having a stable place to stay. And will it be done before the baby comes?"
"Shh, Mia stop worrying, i'll round up a few people and we'll take care of it. All you need to worry about is the designing and someone will be helping you with that."
I smile and peck his lips. "Look at my man, organizing everything..." I coo and he blushes.
"Have you come to a decision yet?" The real estate agent says walking into the room joining us again.
"Yeah we've decided on a different plan so we won't be looking for houses anymore...but thank you for your time." Liam announces and i enjoy watching her face fall as she looses another costumer. I stop myself halfway through thought almost scolding myself for my bullying but then I dismiss myself. I'm pregnant and cranky, she should know by now.
