~ Joe's POV ~

All I do is lay here staring at the ceiling. I feel nothing. I am so numb. I am so drained. How did this happen? One minute we were happy. She was happy for the first time that had seemed like forever. The grey walls had nothing on how I'm feeling.

I hate this mattress. I hate these same four walls. I hate that I'm alone and have no company. I want to get out. I hate I can't get out.

The only thing keeping me going is her.

I heard the door clunk and lifted my head to see a warden at the door.

"Sugg," he said in a formal manner, "someone is here to see you."

"Who?" I questioned. It couldn't be Hannah, it's only been a few days.

"She says she's your sister." The Warden replied.

Zoe?! Why would she be here? She was due to come and see me next week.

I followed the warden through the facility. The sounds always shook me up. Nothing felt right there. Noises and shouts came from other cells as we walked passed. I've never felt so alone and scared.

I was led into an office like room where sat Zoe. She was joined by Alfie and another officer one side of the table.

I was led to a seat on the other side of the table. Zoe was playing with her fingers and Alfie looked somewhat sad. I knew something was wrong.

"Can someone tell me what's going on?" I questioned everyone in the room. I was starting to get worried. "Zoe...?"

She looked me in the eyes and took a deep breath in. "Hannah has gone missing."

My world crumbled around me. I lost all senses. Everything froze. "Missing...?" I questioned in a manor that would rival a child's.

"I'm so sorry Joe." Alfie piped up. "Caspar has gone too."

I lost it. I remember standing up and that was it. I saw red. The next thing I remember was being held by two men. I'm not even sure who they were. The room was a mess. I don't know what happened.

Zoe walked up to me and cupped my face as I just cried.

"How have I lost her Zoe?" I bawled. I collapsed in her arms and she hugged me like she would when we were children.

"And too your best friend. Oh tough one mate." Why was he even here with his stupid grin?

"Alfie, can you leave." Zoe asked him. He still stood there. "NOW!" She demanded. He left the room like a sulky toddler and she carried on cradling me.

"How long has she been gone? They... They been gone." I corrected myself.

"No one really knows." She hushed me. "She loved you to absolute bits Joe. She wouldn't do this. I think there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. They've opened a missing persons on both of them." Zoe loosened her grip until she was cupping my face again. "Is there anywhere where either of them would go without telling anyone?"

"I don't know." I said through tears.

"Oh come on Joe, you know them both better than anyone else." She wiped a tear. "Where is her favourite place. Where reminds her of you?"

I shrugged. "She wouldn't hurt me right?" I asked.

"I don't believe so." She looked down.

"I asked her to marry me," I admitted "last time she was here. I asked her. She said yes. If she wasn't happy, she wouldn't of said yes right?" I understood I sounded like a small child. I wasn't ready to loose my life.

"This puts more reason into thinking there's a lot more to this than meets the eye Joe."
