I sat in a room filled with tables and chairs. Other people filling the room with smiles and happiness, something I haven't felt in a week. This week has been terrible. I hadn't slept. I had barely eaten. I'd been surviving off water. My tummy had butterflies. I didn't know what to expect when I saw Joe. I knew he wasn't going to be okay, even though he's pretty good at hiding the fact he isn't.

I was disturbed from my thoughts from hearing a gate clink open. Men started pouring out, smiling when they see their loved ones. I frantically searched for Joe.

Then there he stood. The world stood in slow motion. His lips gave me a faint smile as he noticed me.

As he walked too me, I stood up to be engulfed in a hug so big. I buried my head into his shoulder. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you more." He added. I smiled into his neck and placed a kiss.

We sat down as I studied his face. His hair, usually styled, sat across the top of his head flat. His eyes that were once a vibrant blue, had turned grey with tiredness. His face gaunt and his lips also grey. I wanted to kiss every part of to make him better.

"Hannah, I can't take it anymore!" He admitted. I placed my hands in his as I listened intently to his woes. My already broken heart was shattering into smaller and smaller pieces as the seconds ticked by. I took his hands and placed a kiss on the back of them.

"Joe, I found something in your bed side table." What I was doing was risky but it needed to be said.

Joe's face flooded with horror, until I told him, which then he looked relieved and then horrified again.

"I don't have a black note...! What? I never wrote those things. You believe me don't you? I swear it wasn't me. I swear on your life."

My mind went back to when I thought there was someone in the house. My head thumped. It had been put there on purpose!

"Hannah?" Joe shook my shoulder.

"You've been set up." I said abruptly.

"Well, thank you Sherlock." Joe said folding his arms in a sarcastic manner. I giggled. Joe even makes me smile when he's so sad and down.

Has Caspar put it there? Did Caspar only know about the email because he sent it? Caspar didn't show me the email he received. All we did was talk about it.

I looked at Joe who was now studying my features. "You need sleep. You haven't slept in a week." He said. "And some food."

"I could say the same about you Sugg." I sighed deeply. I didn't want to tell Joe my thoughts. The idea that his best friend had set him up would just kill him.

"I love you." I whispered though watery eyes.

He took his thumb and wiped my eyes. His hand played with my fingers like he would usually do. Forever tracing the scar from the broken glass incident. He started singing lyrics at me like we would usually do in the car.

"You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be and I don't want to go home right now.
All I can taste is this moment and all I can breathe is your life and sooner or later it's over. I just don't want to miss you tonight..."

He looked into my eyes "Marry me?" He asked.

My eyes widened with confusion. "Wha...?"

"Marry me?" He asked again. "I'm being serious. When I'm out, we'll do this properly. I'll get down on one knee and ask but for now, I need something to keep me going."

His face was searching for an answer. His eyes ready to explode into waterfalls. I cupped his face and nodded, my own eyes spilling. A smile exploded over his face. His eyes suddenly had life. We sat and giggled in tears for a minute or so.

"Oh, and I love you too." He added smiling from ear to ear.

We were broken from our own little world when we heard the ear shattering sounds of a bell. Happiness turned to sadness as we realised we would have to say our goodbyes.

Joe took me into one final hug. The feeling of his body made me feel safe. He kissed me on the forehead. "Well, future Mrs Sugg, You best be going."

I nodded sadly. "I love you." I said as he walked away. I watched him leave and my heart crashed to the floor. I turned to walk out of the opposite door where I knew Oli would be waiting for me on the the other side.

As soon as I reached Oli, I burst into tears.

"He can't stay there Oli!" I protested. "He looks so ill."

"What happened?" He placed his hand in the small of my back leading me to a seat.

"He swore he didn't write that notebook. He'd never seen it in his life." Oli hummed. "I believe him. Someone put that book there. Someone's playing mind games with me."

"I'm sure you're just being paranoid." Oli added, "it's been a tough week!" Oli changed the subject. "So how are you and Joe? Still okay?"

What a strange question. "He asked me to marry him." I said quietly as I stood up to go out to the car.

I heard Oli follow me "Oh, did he now."
