Author's Note: So... Crystal got some hate from that last chapter, huh? I think a lot of readers confuse my main character's decisions with my decisions, if that makes any sense. Obviously I'm the one who wrote Crystal's reaction. That doesn't mean that I think she reacted correctly. I wrote what I thought was the most realistic reaction for her age and situation. She is half Luke, after all. Also, her reaction is creating my story line. So it was necessary.

Sorry for the widely spaced updates. I'm super busy with school and I'm going through a really hard time right now. Thank you to everyone who's been helping me out. You guys are amazing!

Dedicated to P1ckles_21 for giving me the idea for this chapter and chapters in the future!

As I shoved clothes into a bag, Drea and Cane came running into my room.

"Crystal, what are you doing?" Cane asked.

"I'm leaving!" I yelled in reply.

"What? What do you mean you're leaving?" Drea asked.

"I have to get out of here! I can't look at my parents knowing that they've spent all these years lying to me!"

"And where are you going to go?"

I looked up at Drea. "I'm going to go find my dad."

"Are you insane, Crystal?" Cane demanded. "You saw that tape! Your dad is physco! He murdered people! He rigged the games! Your dad is an awful person, Crystal. I'm sorry, but he is! You can't go looking for a guy like that! That's not someone that you want to find!"

"I have to!" I closed the bag and slung it over my shoulder. "There's more to the story. There has to be. Dad wouldn't just kill people for no reason."

"Are you serious right now?" Cane yelled. He was enraged. "Did you really just call him dad? Talon is your dad, Crystal! He's the one who's been here for you! This Luke guy has nothing to do with your life! Just because he's your actual dad, doesn't mean he's going to be some great person! Clearly he's done some awful things! Don't talk about him like you know him!"

"I need to know!"

"You're being an idiot!"

I stepped away from Cane, feeling like he just slapped me in the face. He doesn't understand. He knows all about his real father. His real father raised him. Sure, Talon raised me, and I will always think of him as Dad. But what about my other dad? Don't I have a right to know him? I would like to figure out if he's still alive. Plus, I can't stand staying in this house for one more moment.

"I would rather act like an idiot and know the truth then be smart and get lied to," I said to him. Then I turned around, opened my window, and started to crawl out.

"Whoa, whoa!" Drea ran forward. "What are you doing?"

"I told you already. I'm leaving," I replied.

"You can't seriously be leaving," She said.

"But I am."

"Where are you going to go?"

"I'm going to sneak onto the train and jump off when I feel like it," I replied.

"You're going to get yourself killed!" Drea said.

"I need to do this."

Drea sighed. "Fine. Then I'm coming with."

"What?" Cane yelled.

Drea turned to Cane. "Well I can't stop her. So I mine as well go with her."

"This is so stupid!"
