"Hello dearie!" I said in my best cheerful voice. "What brings you here today?"

"I...um...I wanted to get...well...human legs." she said nervously.

I studied her carefully. Brown hair with black tips, tan skin, dark brown eyes, orange tank top, coral pink tail. She would pass off as your average mermaid.

But then I looked at what I wanted, my way of revenge.

The aura around her (perfectly manicured) hands.

Sparks, barely visible, formed glowing gloves up her arms, fading as they reached higher up towards her shoulders.

"Dearie, things like these come at a price."

"Yes, yes....I have come with payment...."

She pulled out a sack from her seashell bag. Out flowed hundreds of gold coins.

"Dearie, money has no use to me!" I said in my most friendly-teasing voice.

"But..... but..." she said, looking defeated.

I knew this look. She had given up hope.

"However, you do have something that I would love to have!"

"Yes, yes anything!" she said. She looked so hopeful, like my one word could solve all her problems. No, my words would be the start of her problems.

"I want your electric powers."
