"Both of you, stay here," Gabriel cautioned, as he lowered the volume of the television, and tiptoed into the hall. He disappeared into the darkness, leaving both of us motionless on the sofa. We peered into the darkness waiting for Gabriel... And then there was a smash!

The sounds of struggling sounded through the halls and before I had a chance to stop Caleb, he'd already bolted down the hallway into the room with the source of the sound. I proceeded to follow them, but the front swung open and in came two buff men, marching in.

"Guys we've got more company!" I yelled as I sped down the hall. I didn't even stick around to see what these guys wanted. I took a right turn to find Gabriel and Caleb knelt on the floor with three men behind them, pointing guns to their head. I froze at the door, my mouth dry as my legs shook. I knew the two men from the door were already behind me; I could feel the warmth of their presence.

One of the men pulled out a small device, whispering into it. "We've got them, boss." He then nodded in my direction. Suddenly hands clasped my wrists locking them behind my back.

"Sorry honey. We're going to have to put you to sleep." A small cloth was force ably pressed upon my nose, and within a few seconds of my struggling, I fell into utter darkness.

I woke up with a killer headache and a constant ringing in my ears. Without warning, a cold liquid splashed all over me, bringing all my senses alive... more detailed. Detailed enough for me to notice that I was all alone in the dimly lit room and also that I wasn't wet. There wasn't any sign of water anywhere.

A deep voice chuckled, causing my head to snap in the direction of the sound, and sure enough, it was one of the guys who abducted us. Who were these people? He shook a medium-sized spray can he held in his hands with a devious smirk.

"This does an awesome job in bringing people back to their senses," he commented with a laugh. "It's cold hydrogen but truthfully it feels like freezing water." I blinked, wondering why this guy was explaining this to me. "Anyway, you must be Zoe," he continued. I raised a brow.

"Oh, so we get to names after I'm taken against my will?"

He laughed, probably thinking I was joking. I wasn't. I was ready to lurch at him, knowing I'd never possessed the strength to take him down but I had enough willpower to go. Until I realised I was bonded to a chair with a firm leather belt.

"We were on a tight schedule. Boss wanted this," he motioned his hands to me. "Done pronto." He sniffled before turning on his heels to leave. I still had no idea what this was about and as soon as he gave me a clue, he was leaving.

"Wait!" I yelled to get his attention. He turned his head, only slightly with some sort of irritation. "Who's your boss?"

"Have some patience. You'll find out in time and I doubt you'd be surprised." I narrowed my eyes to slits.

"What's that supposed to mean?" The buff man rolled his eyes, tired of answering my questions. He slammed the door shut behind him, leaving me in the darkness with no sound present. It felt like an abyss.

I didn't even know what became of Caleb or Gabriel. Had the others noticed we were gone? It was probably morning right now, so Darlene, Nina and Emmett would get help. Right? I felt short of breath just thinking that no one was going to find us. I didn't want to go like this.

I just needed assurance that everything was going to be fine and... everything was turning out just like that. Don't they always do? A tear rolled down my cheek. Of course, I felt every nerve in my body encouraging me to blame my mother for this. I didn't want to, but I knew it was the truth. It wouldn't make a difference anyway. From the order things occurred, Candace would still die.

A creaking noise commenced and light poured into the room as a muscular figure stepped through the door's entrance, only his silhouette visible. I squinted a bit, my eyes getting a bit accustomed to the light until as he walked closer, I began to recognise who it was. The light bounced off the cement floor, illuminating his face, showing the proud grin that was present. I wanted to slap it off.

"Well Zoe, you don't look surprised to see me." I scoffed, allowing the coldest glare I could generate, to surface on my face.

"You're capable of everything that includes breaking the law," I replied. "I see you've downgraded from murder to kidnapping." He passed a hand through his ginger like curls, smiling wider.

"You never seem to see the good in me," he laughed. If I could have growled, I would. He walked to the other side of the room and pulled a stool I hadn't noticed was there and sat rather close to me. "You called this on yourself, so you have no one else to blame."

"That's sick." He shook his head, by all means serious.

"I'm not talking in metaphors. If you'd just get off my tail, I'd have no reason to do this." He reached to stroke my cheeks but I pulled my head away.

"Is that what you told my sister before you killed her, Chris?" I spat. His eyes darkened.

"For starters, my fucking name isn't Chris and, I had to do what I had to do."

"So what? You came here as an imposter and just randomly chose my family." He scrunched his forehead, processing that for a while.

"Well, when you put it like that... I mean it's not like that... maybe it's like that..." He stroked his chin. I sighed, knowing that this guy wasn't going to let me live. And yet I had to spend my last hours or days stuck here with HIM.
