"It's actually an honour to have you here," he continued, chewing on a ham and cheese sandwich. He actually had food brought in for the both of us. It puzzled me why he was being so generous. I carefully picked up the slice he'd cut out for me and held it to my lips. "Go on, eat it," he pressed. "I don't want you fainting on my watch. I have a lot planned for the two of us." I blinked.

"Where are my friends?" I asked, suddenly remembering them. Chris wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"Those two boys? They're fine. As a matter of fact, they should be the least of your worries." I dropped the sandwich back on its platter.

"Listen, Chris-"

"MY NAME IS NOT CHRIS!" He abruptly enraged. I had to regulate my breathing to make sure he wasn't going to lash out further. He took several steady breaths before sending a forced smile my way. This guy was far gone, more than I expected. Did he escape from a psychiatric ward or something?

"Then what should I call you?" I asked timidly. He resumed eating his slice before answering.

"Sage. Sage Henson." I raised a brow. Where did he get his fake credentials from? He sensed my confusion and continued. "I didn't want to spend my vacation on my same name," he replied. I gulped, ready to ask the questions I've been dying to know the answers to. If he was going to kill me, I should get some explanation.

"How did you meet Nina?" I asked more confidently. I couldn't resist the bread staring at me anymore so I finally began eating it, much to his content.

"I assumed she told you all that. Las Vegas City, the city of 'sin'." I glared at him as he exposed his teeth. "I take it as the 'do whatever you want here' sign."

"What are you saying?"

"I lived my life." He noticed my anger so he held his hands up in surrender. "Hey, she came at me first. I almost mistook her for a prostitute. But..."

"But what?"

"But she wanted more than a hookup. I think she actually liked me, and she wanted to take it slow." He whistled a plummeting tune.

"What's up with you men?" I proceeded to grab a hold of him but he moved out of my grasp.

"She'd teased me so much before, what did you expect me to do? So I got what I wanted by force. And she ran home crying like a little-"

"No. You're unbelievable."

"Thank you."

I shook my head, staring at his senile yet dangerous expression. "Do you think that you're God? That you have the right to say who lives or dies?" He chuckled, tilting his head to one side.

"Now you know I don't think like that, Zoe," he taunted. "You'll figure me out eventually." He rose from his chair, advancing to pull another tray I hadn't noticed was there. He then returned to the chair and sat before me, his eyes glimmering with excitement. "I can give you someone to blame if you'd like. I could see the wheels turning in your head."

I scoffed at his 'kindness'. If he was being friendly in this state, my knowledge if him being somewhat bipolar already had me on my edges, ready to pounce or flee at any chance I had.

"You're going to lose," I spat. I hated seeing him so smug.

"What makes you say that?" He asked un-bothered. I shrugged.

"It's a cliché thing. People like you always get caught... Eventually. This string of glee that you're experiencing is bound to end." He nodded along in agreement.

"That's why I tend to make the most out of my time with you." He drummed his fingers on a small table. "It pains me to do this, but it's for the best."

"Do what?" I asked with a shaky voice. What exactly was on his mind? I peered into his light coloured eyes, trying, praying, that there was at least some good in him. And that's when I started to regret that I'd even asked that question. The answer may, in fact, cause dread for the rest of the time I was to be here. Chris got up from his chair and slowly undid my bonds, maintaining eye contact with me.

"Don't try anything stupid," he cautioned.

And I know this is short, but we're in the exam season, so I couldn't stay online long. It actually took me two weeks just to write this whole damn thing and it's just about 700 words! Anyway, hope you liked it. Don't forget to comment and vote!
