The blaring music vibrates in my ears as I step into the house cluttered with sweaty, dancing bodies. I push my way through the crowd, holding my breath at the smell of alcohol and smoke emanating from some of them.

"You made it!" Alexis squeals, slipping her way through the swaying bodies.

I force a smile,"Yeah. I'm here."

I look around, examining all of the drunk and intoxicated bodies. I notice one passed out on the floor behind the couch with a beer in hand.

"Come Katherine." She pulls me through the crowd, getting squished a few times.

In a second we're in the kitchen and she hands me an ice cold beer. I carefully set it on the counter, scrunching my nose.

Parties are not my thing.

I look at the body laying across the dining table in the next room. "LOSER" is scrawled across his forehead and a thick mustache is drawn under his nose with sharpie. I see the sharpie laying on the floor with empty red solo cups scattered around it.

I turn away from the table and search through the cooler. I sink my hand into the ice, moving all of the alcohol trying to find a bottle of water. When I am certain that there is none, I stand up and fling the water off of my hands.

Alexis left me by going to the living room once she dropped me off here and after I rejected the Coors Light she handed me. I open the fridge, moving aside the milk, beer bottles, and finally finding a water. I hug it to my chest, hesitating before walking into the room with dancing bodies. I have to plug my nose at the strong smell of vomit in one area so I do my best to walk away from it as quick as possibe.

I sit on the last unoccupied seat next to a couple making out, and if I'm being honest, it looks like they're about to have sex. The guys shirt is on the ground and I avoid looking in that direction. I look around the room trying to find Alexis or anyone I know at this stupid party. I take a sip of the refreshing water and come to the conclusion that all the people here are strangers.

I get up and walk around, thinking of places she could be. Daring to go upstairs, I climb the last step surrounded by couples pushed against the walls with locked lips. I stare at the thick carpet, my stomach twisting. I can't help but think about my ex; the way he would kiss me was magical. I quickly search all of the woman hoping to see Alexis. My gaze stops on Cheyenne with her fingers tugging at Jesse Paulks dirty blonde hair.

Seeing that Alexis isn't up here, or hoping that she isn't in one of the rooms, I sprint back downstairs wanting to escape all of the couples making out. The dim lighting makes it hard to find her. Actually it makes it hard to find anyone. After roaming around the living room I finally spot her in the corner talking- or shall I say flirting- with two guys.

She doesn't notice me and twirls her hair around her finger. I resist the urge to roll my eyes and do a fake gag so I down a big gulp of water. I toss the empty bottle in a trash sitting on a wooden chair. Shifting feet, I stare at my hands not wanting to look at the couples. My mind starts wandering off, thinking about my ex.

He would be here. He never misses a party. But he's probably with another girl already. I cringe at the thought of another girl in his arms. The thought feels like a punch to my heart.

"Hey, you look like you could use this." A voice from above me said, slurring a little.

I raise my head trying to see who the voice belonged too but I can barely see due to the lighting. I can tell by the voice and short hair that the person is male; the only feature I can see is his dark, messy black hair. I stare at the unopened Coors Light in his extended hand.
