I smile at him and continue smearing the icing on my toaster strudels. He moves to sit on the counter behind me and I can feel his eyes staring at my back. I don't bother turning around to face him as I munch on my breakfast.

"So, I'm going to the mall today. Wanna come with me?" He asks, nonchalantly. I turn around with my second toaster strudel half eaten in my hand. Kellin is staring directly at me with his piercing bluish- gray eyes as he leans his arm against the counter to hold him up. Should I go with him? I mean, why not? If I go it will get me an excuse to get out of this apartment before I go to work tonight. I can tell that the look on his face means he is waiting for an answer.

I finish swallowing the piece of the sweet pastry before answering. "Yeah, I'll come. Maybe after we can stop by the grocery store to get some food." I walk over to the side of the fridge with the post-it notes and point at them. "I wrote a few items that we need." He pushes himself off of the counter and stands so close to me that our arms brush against each other. A tingling sensation shoots through my arm which causes my breath to catch in my throat. I slowly take a step away from him but the tingle in my arm still lingers. "When are you leaving?" I mutter before heading back to my breakfast.

"In about an hour." He shrugs, stretching his arms above his head. I nod and finish the last bite of the sweet pastry.

"Okay, I'll go start getting ready." I reply, nodding my head. I watch him fold his arms at a leisurely pace using my peripheral vision. I slowly move my gaze to meet his and we stand there for a little while. My eyes trail over his toned chest and sculpted arms until I bring them back up to his beautifully dark eyes. His eyes capture mine with a look I can't explain. They look like they're challenging and filled with a desire for something.

I look away once i feel my cheeks start heating up. I gently set my plate in the sink and head to my room to avoid an awkward conversation. Leaning against my bedroom door, I stare into the vanity mirror on top of the modern, white dresser.

I don't have a lot of makeup, but I do have some from cheap, good quality brands. Now that I actually have time for myself, I decide to apply more makeup than I usually do. Foundation. Concealer. Powder. Bronzer. Highlight. Mascara. Vaseline. That's all I'm going to wear today. Whenever I had a day off from one of my jobs, I would take part of the day to buy something nice before going to buy groceries.

I end up lost in my thoughts as I apply my makeup. By the time I finish my makeup routine by slathering Vaseline all over my lips, 40 minutes have passed. I shuffle through the drawers of the dresser trying to find a decent outfit to wear. I fish out a skin tight, black tank top and light blue jean shorts. I check my appearance in the mirror and decide to run my fingers through my hair to try and make it look messy but cute. I shake my head at my reflection and smooth my hair down. I don't know why I'm trying to look cute. Sighing, I move my raggedy, beat up black Converse from under the bed and slip them onto my feet.

I take a deep breath before stepping out of my room. When I step into the living room, not a single sound can be heard. I fall back into the couch and let the cushions wrap around me. A nap sounds good right now. I shut my eyes for what feels like 10 seconds when the sound of Kellins door opening makes me bounce up from the couch. I can tell Kellin didn't expect to see me out here by the look on his face. He pauses at his bedroom door frame before finally clearing his throat. "You ready?" He asks, flashing a grin. I nod, slowly standing up.

I've been in Kellins car for 15 minutes now. I have no idea where this mall is located but he told me we'll be there in 5 minutes. Once we pull up in front of the mall, I'm able to scan over the building for the first time. This mall is huge; it is about two Super Targets wide and I'm not sure how far back it goes. I've never been to a mall this big. The last mall I went to was in Iowa when I was 19 years old. After I moved to New York I never took the time to shop at any malls. Instead I've always shopped at Walmart or Target. Kellin is on his phone for a minute or so before he finally gets out of the car.
