Color In His Eyes

Edward hated his eye sight. All he ever saw was grey. It was the dullest color in the world to him. Of course, he knew there were other colors, such as red, green or blue. But the most alluring color to him, was black. He never understood why, until that fateful day.

Roy had questioned the color he saw. When he was younger, he'd ask his adoptive mother about the color he saw, and she'd only laugh and say, "You'll understand when you meet that special somebody." He'd known about other colors, but the name of a golden color just, attracted him. He began to ask even more questions, but they stopped when destiny decided it was time.

Edward had been walking home from food shopping, by himself, Alphonse not at his side. He was quietly grumbling about a recent report he'd written, and how it was a waste of time. As he was walking, his grip on the brown paper bag in his hands, tightening. Suddenly, he bumped into something- more like someone. The person he bumped into chuckled slightly. "Are you alright down there Fullmetal?" Roy- the owner of the chuckle- asked softly. Ed looked up at Roy, glaring slightly. The two looked at one another, directly making eye contact. And suddenly, color began to fill their eyes. Ed gasped quietly, and a look of surprise fell onto Roy's usually smirking face. "C-Colonel...?" The now golden haired boy asked quietly. "Hm....?" The now black haired male replied. "I-I see colors...." Edward replied. Roy's eyes seemed to sparkle. "After all this time, my soul mate was right in front of me." Roy said softly, laughing a little. He held out a hand for Ed to take. And the small boy quickly accepted it, blushing slightly. Roy just grinned in reply. Ed blushed more, and shyly, leaned against the taller male. At long last, there was color in his eyes.
