Roy tapped his foot impatiently. He was at a slave auction and was trying to get a slave, preferably neko. They started bringing out the slaves in shackles, starting the bidding at 500 dollars. Roars of bids erupted throughout the auction room, as unfortunate people were auctioned off. However, there was a small blonde boy, with golden kitten ears sat, shaking horribly. Roy watched as a kid got auctioned off for 3,000 dollars. As she walked off, a certain blonde caught his eye, shaking in the corner. Roars erupted but Roy stood up. "I'll take that one for 10,000 dollars!" He exclaimed, pointing at the blonde. Everyone quieted down, knowing they couldn't one up that. The blonde neko suddenly stiffened. One of the men holding the auction growled as the blonde wouldn't move towards his new owner. He harshly tugged on the boy's chain, and he let out a small yelp as he was practically dragged. Roy frowned and grabbed the chain from him. "Thank you." He told the man and dragged the blonde outside. "What's your name." He demanded. The blonde didn't reply, and just whimpered quietly. Roy growled. "Tell me your name!" He said. "E-Edward...!" The boy squeaked. Roy sighed and put Edward in the front seat of his car. He got in and started. "I'm Roy. But you will refer to me as master." He started driving. "Here's how this will work. I have two other slaves, Maya and Oliver. You disrespect me, you get whipped. Hurt anyone, whipped. Out of line, whipped." Ed nodded quickly. He had such hopes that his next master would be kind to him, maybe even treat him like an actually person. How stupid that thought was. Roy sighed and stopped the car in front of a huge mansion. "Besides that, you'll be fine." Roy said and smiled at him before getting out and grabbing his chain. He walked him inside and Unclipped the chain. "Maya! Oliver!" A girl and a boy rushed forward, bowing." Hello master!" Ed was surprised at the fact that Roy gave him a smile. He looked at the girl and boy, and nervously stared at the two. "Maya, Oliver. This is Edward. Show him to his room." Roy said and walked off. Maya smiled kindly then showed her the whip marks on her arm. "I was only here for two days before I misbehaved." She said as they walked. "Oh, Oliver can't talk. His last master cut off his tongue." Ed let out another squeak, and his eyes went a little wide. Oliver shrugged and opened the door. There was a bed, dresser, and attached bathroom. "Here's your room. But if you misbehave too many times, you spend a week in the cellular." Ed nodded, and hesitantly went to step inside, but quickly stopped. His old habits coming back. "Go ahead. You get started tomorrow,first thing at 5:30. I'll explain later. Join us for dinner at 7:00!" Maya said and walked away with Oliver. Ed looked at the two as they walked away, and peeked his head inside the room. His tail waved around, as his ears flickered. Roy knocked on his door. "Edward? I'm coming in." He said and walked in. Ed looked at Roy as he stepped in. "Ma-Master....?" He mumbled in confusion, and slight fear that he already did something wrong. He jumped however, when he spoke, quickly placing his hands on his mouth, mumbling an apology for speaking. Roy sighed. "Look,I just wanted to say welcome to your new home. Also,you don't hand to apologize for speaking. Now let's go to dinner." He said and grabbed his arm,taking him to the dining hall where the chef prepared chicken, fish, vegetables, and a cake for dessert. Ed nodded slowly. His previous master had treated him very cruelly, and hurt him practically everyday. But this man, he seemed gentle almost. Roy sat Edward next to Maya. Oliver served everyone their meals then sat down. Everyone started eating. Ed shyly ate not really touching his food. Roy glanced at Edward but kept eating. Soon they finished and Maya started to do the dishes. Ed didn't know what to do so he sat still, shaking nervously. Roy placed a hand on his shoulder. "Why don't you head to bed. You'll get started tomorrow morning." Ed jumped upon feeling Roy place his hand on his shoulder. The neko slowly nodded, and began walking to his room. Roy watched him go and sighed. He made sure everything was done before heading to bed. He got dressed in his night clothes and slipped into bed and Oliver and Maya rushed to their rooms. Ed laid wide awake in his bed, curled up in a ball. Nightmares of old memories played in his mind, making the blonde whimper quietly, his tail wrapping around his small figure. Roy just couldn't sleep. He sighed and closed his eyes forcefully, trying to sleep and eventually fell into a dreamless sleep. Eventually Ed fell asleep, curled up, his ears flat against his hair.
~~~~Next morning~~~~
Maya knocked on Ed's door,already dressed. "Edward! Wake up!" She whispered as Oliver tapped his foot next to her. It was 5:00 in the morning. Ed's eyes slowly opened, and he crawled out of bed, opening the door to look at Maya and Oliver. Maya smiled at him. "Good morning. Get dressed and quick, we have to mop the wholllle house today before 5:45." Ed nodded and peeked inside his dresser. He just grabbed a random shirt and pants, putting them on quickly. He walked outside his room, meeting up with Maya and Oliver again. Oliver put a thumbs up and grabbed a mop, handing one to Ed." Edward, you get the kitchen and dining hall. We'll get the rest. Make sure it's spotless!" The neko nodded, walking towards the dining hall. He thought it'd be a good place to start, since it was the biggest room he had to do. Maya and Oliver quickly mopped, heading back to Ed once they were finished and leaned against the wall, watching him. Ed had gotten a good portion of the room done, and tried to finish, so that he could work on the kitchen. Oliver grabbed his mop and started helping, smiling at Ed as he did so. Together they finished pretty quickly. Ed smiled softly at Oliver, nodding in appreciate, once they were done. They heard footsteps and froze. "Crap...we didn't do it in time...." Maya whispered as Roy appeared, rubbing his eyes and his hair all messy. Ed looked at Maya as she said that, and his eyes darted to the floor. Roy growled and picked Oliver up by the neck. "You call this spotless?!" Oliver spit in his face and Roy dropped him,slapping him hard. Ed stiffened at hearing Roy yell, and his ears flattened against his hair again. Roy sighed and glared at them. "Take this as an example of what not to do." He said and stormed off. Ed looked at Oliver looking to see if he was alright. Oliver looked at him and shrugged. "I'll make breakfast...you guys should head to the dining table...." Maya said softly and walked into the kitchen. Ed just followed Maya instead. "I-I can help..." He mumbled softly. Maya smiled softly. "It's alright Ed. Go sit down." The blonde nodded and sat down. Roy was sitting at the end of the table, Oliver sitting in one seat next to him. Maya made bacon, omelettes, and hash browns. She served them to everyone then say down,serving herself. Ed slightly fiddled with his tail, a habit he had grown accustomed to doing. Roy kept glancing at Edward as he ate, smiling at him when Ed looked at him them went back to eating. 'Why does Master keep on looking at me...? And why does he keep on smiling at me...? Should I ask Maya about it...?' The blonde thought, thoroughly confused. He wasn't used to being smiled at. Roy finished eating and soon did everyone else. Roy glanced at Ed, noticing he didn't really touch his food as Oliver and Maya took Edward to help them do the dishes. Ed helped them clean. He stood next to Maya, trying to reach the sink. He was a few inches too small to even reach the sink. His auto mail stopped him from growing at a normal rate. Maya chuckled as she looked at him." Hey Ed. Did you know we have dogs?" Maya said,trying to start a conversation. Ed looked at her, and let out a quiet whimper. "W-We do...?" Maya blinked." Yeah...two. Clover,a girl and Bronx,a boy..." "D-Do they b-bite...?" Maya shook his head. "Nah, they are big sweethearts. Well, Bronx likes to roughhouse and Clover likes to nibble on shoes but they don't bite people." Ed nodded, hearing that calmed him. "Wanna meet them?! We can take a break secretly and sneak out to meet them!" Maya exclaimed making Oliver cough and wildly shake his head. Ed thought about it. "I-I don't know a-about th-that...." He decided. Maya pouted. "Oh please!! You won't regret it!" "B-But what if w-we get caught...?" "We won't!" Maya exclaimed and Oliver rolled his eyes. Ed eventually nodded and gave in. "O-Okay...." "Yes!" As soon as they finished cleaning dishes, Maya dragged Ed out the back into a big dog house." In here!" She whispered, crawling in. Ed nodded and crawled in behind her. Inside was one puppy Dalmatian and a poodle." The Dalmatian is Bronx, Clover is the poodle." Bronx stood up and walked to Ed, pouncing on him and licking his face. Ed let out a very quiet yelp, and flinched as he fell down, Bronx on top of him. Bronx kept licking until Maya picked him up, petting his head. "Sorry ,he likes to lick." Clover was curled up, lazily watching them. Ed nodded and shakily went to pet Bronx's head. Bronx leaned into his hand, letting out a light happy yelp. Maya giggled and smiled at Ed as clover walked over, laying on Ed's lap. Ed smiled softly and pet both of them happily. Maya heard Roy yelling from the house and froze. "We have to go. Now." She yanked Ed out,running back in. They froze as Roy saw them run in from the back, he was holding a whip.
"Well well. Sneaking out again Maya? And dragging little Ed with you?" Ed froze at the sight, and started shaking in fear. "It's all my fault master! I forced Edward to come with me against his will!" Maya exclaimed, bowing her head. Roy growled and whipped her back harshly. She yelled in pain, blood soaking her shirt. Ed could only stand there, and shake, his ears folding, as he let out a quiet whimper. Roy dragged her to the cellar and locked her in there. "Tonight you go without lunch or dinner." He looked at Ed and walked up to him. "You.....don't follow her example." He then walked away. Ed watched in confusion as he watched Roy walk away. Roy sighed. 'What are these feelings? I can't hurt him and the last time I felt this way was with Marie, who left....' He laid in bed, shaking his head. Ed decided to sneak and see Maya. He just had too. He felt some sort of comfort being around her. Maya sighed, wrapping a bandage around her back since she stashed some down there. She then put on her shirt as the cellar door opened. Ed slowly stepped inside. "M-Maya...?" He whispered. Maya gasped and rushed over. "You shouldn't be here!" Ed nodded slowly. "I-I know..." He mumbled. "B-But I wanted t-to stay near y-you..." Maya smiled softly. "Oh Ed...." She then sighed. "But you need to go. I don't want you hurt..." Ed looked at her. "I-I don't I-I will....y'see....for s-some reason...Ma-Master's been...ki-kind towards m-me...and I-I'm not sure h-how lon-long it-it'll last...b-but it m-may stop him f-from hurting m-me...." Ed mumbled as he explained. It had started that way with his first master as well. But then he messed up gravely, and all hell broke lose after. Maya's eyes widened then she giggled and started laughing. "Okay okay." She calmed down. "Every once in a while, master gets attached to one of his slaves. First it was Marie but she was taken from us....so he's been trying not to get attached but looks like he can't help himself~" Ed nodded softly. "O-Oh..." He mumbled in reply. Maya sighed. "Now you should really go....it's lunch time and master wil get mad if he sees you down here..." Ed let out a whimper, and quickly hugged Maya, not letting go. Maya hugged back and smoothed his hair, gently petting his ears." It's okay Edward...it's okay. Now go. Please." Ed didn't want to let go though. He looked up at Maya, tears welling in his eyes. "I-I'm sorry..." He whimpered. Maya blinked. "Ed don't cry....you did nothing wrong." She said softly. The blonde neko sniffled softly. Maya kissed his head. "Go Ed. Please. Before you get hurt." Ed nodded, and pulled away, quietly opening the door to leave. Before he did, he looked at Maya, and then walked out. Oliver and Roy were waiting at the dining hall, lunch ready. Today was a chicken salad, chicken legs, and some fish which, Roy hoped, that Ed would like. Ed stepped into the room, hoping there was no proof of him crying. That'd be a difficult thing to explain. He sat down in his seat, and fiddled with his tail as usual. Roy looked at him and have him his plate. "Eat or it'll get cold." Roy said and him and Oliver started to eat. Ed nodded, and took small bites of his lunch. Oliver basically scoffed it down and Roy smiled. He ate and finished as they waited on Ed. Ed wasn't really hungry. He never was. His last master had barely ever fed him, making form a bad habit of not eating much. Roy stood up and took the dishes,handing them to Oliver and Ed. "After that, I'd like you to dust and then you can take a break until dinner at 5." Ed nodded, and took the dishes to the sink, where he tried to reach the sink itself. Oliver scooted over a chair and motioned for Ed to stand on it. He started washing them then excepted Ed to dry them and put them away. Ed kneeled on the chair, and began to dry the dishes that Oliver handed him. Soon they were finished. Oliver showed Ed what to dust. He had to get the desktops,under the couches,and lamps while Oliver dusted the artifacts and figurines. Ed quietly did as told, and coughed sometimes when the dust got in his face. Oliver quickly and swiftly dusted, making sure to not break anything before going back to Ed, to check on him and getting the spots he missed. Once Ed finished, he curiously looked around. He had no idea what to do next. Oliver laid in his bed as Roy was in the backyard,strumming a guitar and singing softly as the dogs listened. Ed decided to adventure around the house, and found a library. His tail waved around in excitement, and he stepped inside. Bronx jumped Roy and started licking his face, making Roy laugh. Ed's ears twitched as he read, hearing laughter. He stood up curiously and walked towards the source. Roy laughed more as Bronx licked his nose. He picked up Bronx and put him next to Clover, who was sleeping until Bronx jumped on her. Ed giggled quietly as he watched Roy play with them. Roy picked up his guitar and took a deep breath before strumming the instrument and beginning to sing. Roy continued to sing but then he stopped, smirking. Bronx rushed to Ed's hiding spot and jumped on him. "You can come out now Edward." Ed went stiff and let out a squeak of fear, and he shuffled out, focusing on the ground. "I-I'm s-sorry Ma-Master...." He apologized quickly. Roy frowned and sighed, patting Ed's head. "It's alright Edward." The blonde nodded softly, and looked at Roy before looking down again. Roy sighed and stood up, Bronx and clover following as he walked to Edward. "Look, you haven't misbehaved yet besides the sneaking out incident. Why? Usually my slaves hate me and try to defy me as soon as possible." Ed stiffened. "W-Well....y-you aren't the f-first Master I've h-had..." Ed began softly. Roy raised an eyebrow." Go on..." Ed shook slightly. He couldn't find the right words to begin with. However, Roy did it for him. "Did he...hurt you too badly?" Ed nodded. "B-Basically ev-every day....." He then added in an almost silent voice. "A-and night.." It was a very quiet whisper, as memories flashed through his mind. Roy didn't know what compelled him to do what he did next but he hugged Edward tightly. Ed flinched at first, but relaxed into the hug. He rested his head on Roy's shoulder gently, as if he were afraid of the contact. "I'm sorry you went through so much torture..." Roy mumbled and pulled away shortly after. Ed nodded, and noticed that he wanted Roy to hug him again. He quickly shook the feeling away. "H-He trained m-me I gu-guess...tha-that's why I-I don't cause tr-trouble..." Roy nodded." Okay...well. It's time for dinner." He said softly. "Go get seated. I'll have Oliver deliver your meal." He said and walked off to the dining hall. Ed nodded softly and walked to his seat. Roy sat next to him and Oliver delivered a salad, turkey, and creamed corn. Ed slowly ate, silently, hiding a few cucumbers in his sleeve. Oliver raised an eyebrow at him,noticing what Ed was doing but Roy didn't. Roy kept eating the turkey leg. Ed finished, not touching his food much. Roy looked at him.'He won't eat much...that isn't good.' He thought. Oliver started cleaning up with Edward when they were done and Roy headed to sleep. Once they were done, Ed scurried off to the cellular where Maya was. Maya hissed as the door opened." Ed....?" "M-Mhm..." The blonde replied, nervously stepping inside. Maya rushed over." I told you to go! If master finds out..." "I-I'll be o-okay..." He replied. He extended his hand. "H-Here..." Maya blinked and stared at his hand,where there was food." Ed...?" "I-It's for you. S-Sorry it's not m-much...." Maya grinned and hugged Ed, starting to cry." Thank you Ed..." Ed just let out a quiet purr and nuzzled his head into her shoulder. She giggled and kissed his head like a mother would. Maya quickly ate the food then hugged him again. Ed smiled softly and hugged her back. Maya sniffled. "Thank you Ed...." Ed smiled softly at her. "N-No problem Ma-Maya..." Maya smiled then pulled back and gently pet his ears." So what happened while I was gone?" Ed purred softly as she pet his ears. "I-I heard M-Master sing a-and play the gu-guitar." Maya blinked. "That's rare. He hasn't really played since Marie left." Maya looked at him,dead in the eyes." Something is changing around here. And I hope it's for the better." Ed flinched back a little, but couldn't help nodding. "M-Maybe....i-it has to be r-right?" Maya nodded." Well you should go. It's getting late. I'll be back in the morning okay? If you need anything,go to Oliver. He may not be able to speak but he'll try his best." Ed nodded. "O-Okay." He replied softly, hugging her again before exiting the room. Maya hugged back and watched as the door closed. Roy sat in his room,strumming his guitar. Ed scurried back to his room, hoping he wouldn't get in trouble. Roy looked at the doorway as something scurried away." Hello...?" He asked,putting down his guitar. Ed froze in fear as he heard Roy's voice. "Edward?" Roy said and walked over. "Shouldn't you be in your room?" Ed nodded in response. "So why aren't you?" He asked,crossing his arms. Ed had learned from his first master that lying gets a slave no where. So, he settled on the truth. "I-I went t-to ma-make sure Ma-Maya was o-okay...." Roy sighed." Edward....I really don't want to do this. But since you visited Maya,I have to punish you." The blonde neko stiffened, and let out a whimper. Roy couldn't bare to look at him then let out a noise of frustration." What are you doing to me? Ever since you got here,I can't bring myself to hurt you!" Edward just looked at him. "Ma-Master....?" He mumbled in confusion, not really knowing what to say. Roy looked away,blushing bright red." J-just...go to your room." He mumbled. Ed nodded and went to his room, curling into a ball in his bed. Roy flopped on his bed and groaned into his pillow. What was this feeling?! Ed couldn't help but blush a little when he thought of Roy. Should he really be feeling this way about his master....? Roy sighed and flipped over,staring at the ceiling. He couldn't fall asleep. Ed eventually fell asleep, but hours later, awoke, shaking and trembling as he tried to hold in sobs from his nightmare. Roy slept peacefully in his bed,snoring softly. Ed shakily climbed out of his bed, and for some odd reason, went to Roy. Roy felt something lay next to him and weakly opened his eyes. "Ed...?" Ed let out a small sniffle. "I-I'm sorry M-Master...." He whimpered. Roy shot up." What's wrong Edward?!" He asked,hugging the blond to his chest. Ed couldn't help but sob into Roy's chest. "I-It was a n-nightmare...." He mumbled. Roy stroked his hair." Why don't you sleep with me tonight...?" Ed looked up at Roy, his golden eyes almost shinning. "A-Are you s-sure?" Roy blushed and looked away." Y-yeah. I'm sure." Ed nodded. "O-Okay..." Roy got under the blankets again and took Edward with him,tucking him in." Goodnight." "G-Good night M-Master..." Ed mumbled before drifting off, snuggled close to Roy. His tail wrapped around him closely, his ears flickering slightly. Roy blushed and wrapped his arms around Ed,pulling him close. He soon fell asleep. The next morning, Ed slowly woke up, and he silently yawned. Roy had one arm around Ed's waist,holding him close to his chest and his hair was in his face. Ed blushed as he noticed the closeness of him and Roy, but didn't move. He felt...safe. Roy awoke a couple minutes later and saw the position they were in. He yelped and scrambled out of bed,landing on his back. Ed just looked at Roy curiously. "Ma-Master....? A-Are you a-alright?" Roy groaned and stood up." Y-yeah..." He said,still blushing as he averted his eyes. Ed nodded. "Wha-What time i-is it...?" Roy checked his clock." Eight o clock. I'll let Maya out now." He said and walked to the cellar with Ed,Oliver joining them halfway. He let Maya out and she immediately hugged Edward,making Roy glare at her. 'Am I...jealous...?' Ed smiled softly, and quietly purred. Roy crossed his arms and looked down. He was jealous.... Ed saw Roy look down and he couldn't help but let curiosity bubble inside. Roy sighed and walked off." Edward,Oliver. Get breakfast started. I have to ....chat with Maya." Ed looked at Maya curiously before going to help Oliver. Roy pulled Maya aside and glared at her dead in the eyes." I don't know whats happening but I feel good around Ed. Don't take him away from me." Maya giggled." You are in love master. That's why you feel good. And I won't." Ed passed ingredients for breakfast to Oliver. Roy blinked as Maya walked to sat down. He blushed bright red.' I'm in love...with Edward?!' Eventually, they finished, and pancakes were brought out for breakfast. Roy smiled as they sat down and Oliver served everyone. Maya kept nudging Roy closer to Ed and blinking but he simply blushed bright red and glared as he ate. As usual, Ed didn't really touch his food. He kinda just fiddled with his tail. Roy glanced at Ed worriedly and sighed. He finished eating and stood up. "I'll be outside..." He muttered and walked out back. He sat with clover and Bronx, head in his hands. Ed just glanced at Maya and Oliver curiously. Maya giggled." Edward~someone I know likes you~" This made the neko jump. "E-Eh?!" He exclaimed quietly. This made the neko jump. "E-Eh?!" He exclaimed quietly. Maya giggled again." Master likes you! Loves you actually!" Ed quickly shook his head, denying it. "N-No. Th-That's not pos-possible..." Maya blinked." But ...it's true..." Ed didn't reply as he simply looked away from her, a frown dancing on his lips. Maya looked down then laughed nervously." I got you! Got you so good!" She faked laughed." You totally fell for it Ed!" Ed looked at her in confusion. "Wha-What.....?" He mumbled, absolutely confused. Maya laughed more nervously." He doesn't like you...." She said,her eyes darting away. Ed just nodded. "O-Okay..." He replied quietly. Roy sat with clover." I love Edward...." He mumbled." How could this be...I fell in love with my own ...slave..." Ed sighed quietly. "Wh-What do we d-do now....?" Maya shrugged. "I'm gonna talk with master...." She quickly rushed off. Roy was petting Bronx as he played with clover. She sat next to him." I don't think he feels the same..." Roy frowned." That's fine. He's just...just my slave.." Ed stood up, and decided to walk to the library, grabbing a few books to read. Maya frowned and stood up. She walked away. Roy sulked around for the rest of the day,not talking to anyone. When night time rolled around, Ed had been dusting around the house. Roy sat in his room,sulking and sighing. Maya was worried but didn't say anything as she headed to bed after dinner. As Ed was finishing up his dusting, he accidentally knocked over a glass figure of a cat. When he went to try and pick up the broken pieces, he cut his palm by accident, making him quietly yelp. Roy heard a crash and rushed out. He saw that Ed broke his favorite cat figure and anger bubbled inside him." Edward....!" The neko jumped, and started shaking violently in fear. He sighed and dragged Edward into his room,throwing him onto the bed. He stood over him." Why'd you break my favorite cat. Now I must punish you..." Ed's eyes flared up in panic. He could only shake in fear. Roy sighed and crossed his arms before pinning him down." Look Edward. I have to punish you. I wish I didn't have to but I must..." He said then grabbed the whip. The blonde's ears folded against his head as he whimpered silently. Roy started whipping his back but as he did they became lighter and lighter until eventually he stopped,falling down to the floor. Ed whimpered quietly as he looked at Roy in confusion. "Ma-Master...?" He mumbled. "I can't hurt you...." He said ." I just....can't..." Ed weakly stood up, and hugged Roy. The holes in the back of his shirt showing off some of his dog bites, cuts, whip marks, bruises and other...marks, that his old master had done. Roy hugged back,starting to sob as he fell apart. Ed just pulled Roy close to him, shyly, rubbing small circles on Roy's back. Roy then looked at him. He stood up and grabbed some bandages." Take off your shirt...I'll wrap up your whip marks..." Ed stiffened. "I-I can't Ma-Master...." He whispered quietly. Eventually, he'd have too. Roy blinked." Why not?" "The-The o-other ma-marks.....y-you'll see them t-too..." "I do not care Edward." He said softly and gently took off his shirt and gasped. "He...did this to you?" Ed tensed, and nodded in reply. Roy growled and started wrapping him up." Damn bastard..." He muttered. Ed's ears twitched slightly, and it only made him confused. Roy finished wrapping him up and gave him a clean shirt. "Here." "Tha-Thank you..." Ed mumbled. He couldn't help himself as he hugged Roy. Roy blushed and hugged him back,gently as to not hurt him. "Ma-Master....? Ca-Can I stay with y-you again t-too night?" Ed mumbled into Roy's chest. Roy nodded and kissed his head." Sure."
