Chapter 9

(Tommy's POV)

I waited patiently at the hospital. How was I going to explain this to Gracie? She had been through too much tonight. And I didn’t mean to leave her like that. I was stupid for leaving her. I am such a dumb ass.

*Flashback*

I was holding my true love’s hand and I was thinking about how I would always be there for her. All of a sudden I hear a howl in the distance. I could feel Gracie panic up and I didn’t know why. I checked our surroundings and I could sense that we weren’t alone. Gracie let go of my hand and she backed away slowly. I saw a wolf come out of the distance. It was a small male or female coming out from the side. I saw three other big male wolves come from behind Gracie. I tried not to get her startled. One of the big wolves jumped out of the forest and took a bite into Gracie’s right thigh. I shifted and I started attacking. Gracie was already knocked out. After I killed the wolf that attacked Gracie, the other wolves ran deeper into the woods.

I took off after them and I ran with all my might. My wolf was screaming to go back for Gracie, but I knew she would be safer with me keeping these wolves away from her.  I knew where the wolves were headed, Wolf’s Grove. Wolf’s Grove is where all the wolves that were either kicked out or abandoned from their packs. They are always getting into trouble and making better wolves like us work harder to make them stay put. I needed to stop them before they got into Wolf’s Grove, or I would never have a shot of finding them any other way.

I leaped in front of the wolves in front and they stopped dead in their tracks. I howled my alpha howl to let them know that I was authority. They shifted into their human form and they surrendered. There was one teenage female around my age and two males around 20.

“Who are you and why were you on my land?” I asked the girl.

“We were sent by our leader.” the male said butting in.

“First, of all, I asked her.” I hissed through my teeth. “Second of all, Wolf’s Grove has NO leader.”

“You’ll see when we take our revenge on your pack.” the other male replied.

“How ‘bout you shut the FUCK up.” the female replied. “Now, may I talk to the man?”

“Thank you.” I said. “Wait, I never got your name.”

“Rebecca.” she said.

I touched her arm where she must have cut it on a branch and I examined her now naked body. The men were standing there and the bigger male stepped up and got in my face. I was taller than him and he thought he could step up. I laughed in his face.

“Back away. Do not touch her.” he growled with anger. I am guessing that Rebecca was his mate.

“Or what?” I said with a cocky tone.

“Chill out, Bryan.” Rebecca said. “By the way, this is Bryan and Cole.”

“I need to know who sent you to hurt my mate and I.” I said to Rebecca.

“Cole knows more.” she said pointing to him. He was being more co-operative since I snapped at him.

“Sara Brown.” he said. That name for some reason sent chills down my back.

“Who in the world is that?” I asked.

“Tyler William’s ex-girlfriend from high school.” he said. “Tyler got her knocked up, then he met Morgan Greene and he forgot all about her.”

“So, what is that supposed to mean?” I asked.

“That means that Sara is trying to kill your sister, you idiot.” Bryan said.
