(Gracie’s POV)

Second day of school and I already have a project assigned. My first class, Chemistry, I have to dissect a frog and write a two page report on what I saw when I dissected it.

Time for lunch.

I met John at my locker, so he can come to lunch with me.

I saw that boy again. He was talking to my brother again today. I wonder about what….

When that boy left I walked over and sat next to my brother, knowing I shouldn’t have.

“Uhm, who was that boy?” I said following him with my eyes.

“Tommy.” Brent said.

“Oh. Does he have a girlfriend?” I said smiling.

“Don’t. Even. Think. About. It.” he told me. “Not my friend.”

“Ugh.” I said. “What if he likes me?”

“Then, that’s a different story.” He said when Marissa came up to us.

“Hi!” she said in a preppy voice.

“Whatever.” I said rolling my eyes and stood up.

“Gracie…Come on now.” John said, I thanked God for him to save me from that awkward moment.

“Fine.” I said walking off with him and he wrapped his arm around mine.

“Whew. Boy is your brother sexy.” John said.

“Chill.” I said smiling. “That’s my brother.”

“Oops.” He said smiling back at me.

After standing in line for about 10 minutes, I finally got my food. Then, I felt someone bump into my arm. I knocked my tray onto the floor.

“Oh I am so sorry!” that boy Tommy said.

“It’s fine.” I said picking my food up off the ground.

“No, let me give you some money to buy you some more food.” I heard him say when he pulled out his wallet.

“No, its fine. I promise.” I said.

“Alright.” he said handing me the money and smiled. “Buy you something nice.”

“I cannot take this.” I said but when I turned around he was gone.

What in the world? I looked at the bill he gave me and it was a $100 bill. I had to find him and give this back to him…

(Tommy’s POV)

I had to get out of there. I didn’t want this. Not that way, not like this.

My mate shouldn’t be human. I didn’t want her to be human. That brings too much drama, and I didn’t want to have that burden. I didn’t want to explain everything to her. She might think I am a freak. No. I wouldn’t have that.

But how was I supposed to stay away? I couldn’t. The pull is going to bring me back to her. I already want her to be mine.

I signed myself out of school and went outside to the parking lot. I took out my keys from my back pocket and hopped into the front seat. I threw my book bag into the passenger seat. I drove out of the parking lot and drove straight to Morgan’s house.

I pulled up into the driveway and I knew that Morgan, Karah, and Kayden could tell me something about this.

Ugh.

I cut the car off and grabbed the keys out and ran to the front door and started banging.

Karah came to the door and I walked in.

“Oooh this is bad. So bad.” I said running my fingers through my hair pacing.

“What?” Morgan said front the top of the stairwell.

How was I supposed to tell my sister that I had a mate, then drop the bomb on her that I didn’t want a human? Guess I was just going to have to tell her straight.

“I have a mate…” I said.

“OH wow!! I’m happy for….” Morgan said before I interrupted her.

“I don’t want a mate that’s human. That’s exactly what she is.” I said.

“I don’t know what to say….” Karah said.

“You know you won’t be able to resist the pull.” Kayden said.

“Guess I will have too.” I said.

(Unknown POV)

My precious baby boy. I was looking at him in his bed. I will someday be able to show my face back in this town. But, for now, I will have to stay in hiding with my son. Stupid Tyler. He just had to go and screw things up all those years ago. He knocked me up and left just because of his new mate. I will raise my son to know who his father is and how he abandoned him. My son and I will have our revenge.
