Chapter 21: The ending

(Karah’s POV)

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz. My phone vibrated against the table as I watched my daughter dance at the wedding reception. I just was wondering where the bride and groom where. I picked up my phone and I read Tommy’s name on my screen. I slid over the green little button to answer to see why he wasn’t at his own reception.

“Hello?”

“Hello, is this Karah? Tommy’s sister?” a man with a really deep voice asked.

“Yes, who is asking?”

“My name is Jesse Sanchez, I work at St. James hospital. I have somethingthing to tell you. You need to come get your werewolf brother from the jailhouse. He was stronger than me and my colleague, so I could tell that he was a werewolf. He was pushing past us, so we gave him silver insulin. It will not hurt him, but he will be unconscious until another hour-“

“STOP. How do you know about werewolves?” I asked him being confused as I was. “And why is Tommy at the hospital?”

“Don’t worry about the first part. But, he is at the hospital because his girlfriend is in labor. Tommy also thinks that we are part of some cult that is out to get him.” He said as a big grin came across my face. “Also, could you get family and friends here for him and her?”

“YES!” I yelled into the phone. I clicked the red button to hang up. I placed my phone into my purse as I stood up. I walked over to the stage where the band was. I climbed up the three stairs as I came to the microphone.

“So, all of you are wondering where my wonderful brother and his wife is. Right?” I asked all of our friends and family. I heard everyone say yes at the same time. “Well, it looks like my brother is going to be a dad today. Everyone get your asses to the hospital.” I said smiling so hard my jaw started to hurt.

I came down the steps and I tried to find Kayden and Bella. I saw Bella standing on Kayden’s feet and he was spinning around. The most adorable thing was, there was no music playing. I came up behind Kayden and I placed my hand on his shoulder.  He turned around and saw that it was me. He kissed me on the cheek as Bella grabbed my legs. I picked Bella up and looked up at Kayden. “Ready to go?” I asked him. He shook his head yes as he started to grab his keys out his little handkerchief pocket. He placed his hand on my lower back gesturing that we go. We got to the car and I put my daughter in her little Wonder Pets car seat.

I closed the door to the back, and I climbed into the passenger side. Kayden was already in and buckled up. He cut on the car and said, “To the hospital we go.”

“Scratch that.” I said. “County Jailhouse.”

“What in the hell-o.” he said realizing that he was about to cuss in front of Bella.

“Tommy got into a minor fight with one of the nurses trying to get back to Gracie.” 

“oh.” He said.

We drove in silence all the way to the jailhouse because Bella fell asleep in the first 5 minutes of driving. It took maybe 30 minutes to get to the jail. We got there and we pulled up in front of the doors. I got out of the car and shut the door behind me. I walked to the doors and I waited for the doors to fully open. I walked in and I saw a huge man behind the desk. I came to the desk and asked him, “May I bail out my brother?”

“What is his name?” the cop asked.

“Tommy Greene.”

He buzzed a button on his desk and he talked into the speaker. “Bring Tommy Greene out here.” He said. He started pulling out paper work that I would have to fill out. I grabbed my check book and I looked at the cop.
