Why oh why didn't I go to Corey's meeting with him!?
Corey had left my house around 4:30 and told me he'd call me once it was over. It was now ten at night and I hadn't heard a word from him.
Almost an hour later Lucy told me that there was someone on the phone who wanted to talk to me. I thanked her and practically ran to the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey Olivia, it's Jim" I wasn't used to Jim's voice but something did sound right.
"Hey, what's up? Where's Corey? I hate to sound clingy but he said he'd call me" I cringed at what I had said.
Jim let out a sigh. "We uhm, we didn't get signed and Corey. Uhm, he's.. he's went off the handle."
"Where is he?" I began to panic.
"He's at my house right now. The guys are keeping an eye on him but I think he needs you. I got your address from him and I'm at a payphone a few blocks away right now. Anyway you can come out?" he sounded like he was begging.
"Y-yeah, just give me ten minutes and I'll be out" I stammered. I was scared. I hope Corey wasn't doing anything stupid.
"Alright, thanks Olivia. I'll be there in 10"
True to his word, I saw Jim's car parked out front of my house ten minutes later. I threw on a sweater and grabbed my converse and left my room. I walked past Lucy's room in the process. She was busy packing up a suit case. "Lucy, I'm just going out for a few hours, I'll be back tonight though" my voice startled Lucy. She had fear in her eyes and it confused me. "everything okay Lucy?"
"Yes dau-darling," Lucy stuttered. "I was actually leaving tonight for the weekend so please don't forget your house key."
"Okay Lucy, see you on monday" I said cautiously and then went down the stairs and out the door, but not before I grabbed my house key, of course.
I ran out to Jim's car and got in. We took off and I tried to get answers out of Jim but he was driving as fast as possible. That scared me because what if Corey had really messed up?
My breathing increased and I felt like I was having a panic attack. Jim looked over at me, confused. "You alright Liv?"
"Y-yeah I think. Just nervous." I answered honestly.
"He'll be fine once he sees you. He listens to you. Wouldn't stop talking about you either" Jim mumbled the last part and I couldn't help but smile. This made Jim chuckle a bit. "You're seriously the best thing that has happened to him and I can't thank you enough for dealing with his shit" he added making me laugh.
"Well it's not easy, I think I need a raise." I attempted to make a joke and Jim let out a snort at this.
About fifteen minutes later, we were walking inside of Jim's house. "Sorry it's a shit hole. Maid's off on holiday" Jim joked, to which I let out a snort. Oh how the tables have turned.
Before I could come up with something embarrassing or witty to say, I heard something smash into a wall. I really hope Corey wasn't taking his frustrations out on someone else's house. He's better than that.
Jim lead me through his house and into the basement. There was lots of music equipment, alcohol, and it reeked of weed.
And in the middle of this shit storm of a basement was my boyfriend, completely drunk, falling over a coffee table.
"Corey, someone's here to see you" Jim spoke up.
"But I hate people! Who in the fuck would want to- LIV BABY!!!!" Corey yelled out in excitement once he saw me. I wanted to laugh and call him adorable. But he was clearly upset. He's never been this drunk. Well, not with me anyway.
