True to his word, Jim dropped me off at home but not without apologizing a thousand times for thinking it was a good idea for me to come over. I told him he wasn't at fault, but he wouldn't listen. So I just stopped talking all together.

I couldn't believe it. I was so blind and dumb and fell in love with a monster.

And he's related to Darryl!? What the hell? How did I never know that? All the family dinners I went to Corey was never there. I hate to be that cliche rich teenage girl right now but Darryl's family was so wealthy and Corey's... wasn't.

It just blew my mind.

I thanked Jim for the ride and he leaned over to give me a hug. Something told me he didn't hug often cause he hesitated before doing so. I laughed a little and hugged him back.

I got out of the car and walked up the pathway to my house.

My big empty house.

My parents were arguing over something and could be heard from their bedroom all the way to where I was standing in the front foyer. I quietly closed the door and slipped my shoes off. As quietly as possible, I headed up the stairs and lurked from outside of my parents bedroom.

"SO YOU JUST FIRED HER!?" My dad shouted.

"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I DID. THAT BITCH WAS GOING TO CONFESS TO OLIVIA! I did what I had to do." My mother shouted right back, her voice full of venom.

"Oh you did what you had to do did you? Well do you know how to clean up this damn house and be a maid? Cause because of your thoughtless ass we now need a new one!" My father shouted back.

"Oh shut up would you? Maids are everywhere! We can have a new one by tomorrow. One who knows how to keep their mouth shut and doesn't talk so much." My mother spat.

"Lucy kept her mouth shut for seventeen years! What do you mean hire a maid that doesn't talk so much!?" My father exasperated.

"Well she couldn't keep her legs closed around you seventeen years ago now could she?"

My heart dropped. My throat felt like it was closing in. My vision went a little blurry. Oh god I was crying again or on the verge of passing out.

Lucy. Our maid Lucy was my.... mom?

I tuned out everything else they were yelling about and wandered to my room, slamming it shut to let my "parents" know I heard them. I locked the door behind me just in case they tried to come in.

I grabbed my two biggest suitcases I owned and began packing. I grabbed all of my clothes and shoes which filled up one suit case and then filled the other with my makeup, hair products, books, vinyl records, and any other necessities I could find. I made sure I had my backpack filled with all of my books and stuff I needed for school. I threw my wallet in there as well.

I grabbed my phone, totally oblivious to what time it was and called Lucy.

"Mmm hello?" she answered sounding tired.

"Hi mom." My voice cracked.

She went dead quiet, I thought she had hung up until I heard her crying.

"Sweetheart how did you-"

"They've never been very quiet. Bitch said something about you were about to blab about being my mom so she fired you when in reality she was the one who blabbed." I explained.

Lucy- I mean, my mom laughed a little. "It's true. She fired me. I'm on my way to live with my older sister, your aunt  Helen. Just till I find a full time job that provides enough income for an apartment or something."

"I'm coming with you." I blurted out.

"No you are not. You have a roof over your head, food, water, and all the things I can't promise you. Plus you're in school." she replied.

I tried to calm down and not freak out. "Mom you are not leaving me behind. I can't live here. It's a house, not a home. And I need my mom since my dad clearly isn't capable or worthy of being called a "dad". Besides, I only have one month of school left, I could probably look into doing it online."

She sighed and stopped talking for a while. As if she was thinking.

"Alright darling, are you packed?" she asked.

"Of course." I replied instantly.

"Okay, text me once they have fallen asleep and I will come pick you up. I'm just at a motel two blocks away." she replied.

I couldn't help but smile. "Thank you mom, I love you."

"I love you too, my daughter. I'll see you soon."

We both hung up and I fell back on my bed. My smile slowly faded once I saw a flannel shirt underneath my bed side table. It was Corey's.

Corey.

Here come the tears again. He was poison. And I let him kill me.

I had to let him go.

So I did.

. . .

A/N: Le sighhhhhhhhhh so sorry about this chapter. It may seem like a filler, but trust me it was important. Had to tie it all together, for the sake of the sequel lol.

Also sorry for no Corey in this chapter but he's an asshole and I'm still not over what he did to Olivia in the previous chapter.

This book is almost DONE! WHAT!? But like I said, there will be a second one so don't freak out too much all my lovely readers. All four of you.

Thanks for reading and have a good day.

Stay (sic)!
