So so so! here is my latest update! This might just be a part 1 with a part 2 coming up. But! It has yet to be decided! Of course I'd like it if you guys pitch into this decision. I didn't get this theme inspired by coffee but Cupid romance was always something I wanted to write on. Well, here it is!
I know some of you might be wondering why I didn't use proper Greek gods-Thanatos-but Hate was an easier reference...
Also! I had this written just after the night i posted the Angel and Demon theme hence the whole 'opposite attracts' concept, as you can see. But then I'm a sucker for procrastination and left it off till today in one of my Uni tutorials. I really hope you enjoy this work! Do comment, like and share! xx____________________________________________________________________________________
Not again. She thought, devastated as she watched the girl sobbing behind the school. It was an enclosed space, private and hidden amidst all the oversized bushes and trees. She peered from behind the tree she was hiding and winced when the other girl cried harder.
The grip on her bow and arrow trembled noticeably as she sank to the ground with a defeated sigh. The wind blew cold and hard against her small face, and the stray strands of hair from her bun danced wildly around her grieving features.
A small smirk lifted the corner of my mouth as I watched the scene unfolding before me. I had won again! Triumph and pride swelled in my chest as the girl trudged her way back to the school front. The wind howled and the tree I was hiding in swayed. I gracefully leapt onto the ground, and took another deep breath of the hatred and despair coming from the weeping girl. It was delightful and I grinned with utter satisfaction. I remembered the confused and helpless look on Cupid's face and grinned even wider.
Cupid had no idea what had hit her.
"What are you thinking about, bestie?" a voice chirped making me snap out of my flashback.
"Nothing." I let a slow smile slide onto my handsome face, before taking a sip out of my coffee.
Cupid cocked her head to a side, quizzically at me. "Really? You were smiling so hard about it I thought your face would crack."
She gave a loud laugh at her own joke causing a few students to turn to our table and glare.
We were now at the cafeteria, where ghastly humans filled the hallways. I shook my head and smiled down as sweetly as I could at the naïve girl in front of me. "I was just thinking of getting home. You know how much I hate school."
The girl gasped sharply, a concerned expression crossing her features. "Hate is an awful thing, Freddie!"
"Charlotte, you can't possibly love school." I retorted annoyed, sinking a bite into my burger. How could anyone love so many things? Pretending to be Cupid's best friend took a huge amount of patience. All I wished to do now was to snap that neck into half, exactly like how one could easily snap a pencil into two.
"Why not?" the girl replied indignantly, her twinkling eyes flashing and small nose wrinkling. "I love school. I love the teachers and I love everyone!"
Someone passing by gave her a dirty look but it was all in vain. Cupid seemed to be in her own world as she read off a list of what she loved about school. I was almost expecting to see stars and cute fluffy animations float by with all her enthusiasm.
She smiled beautifully down at me, eyes twinkling and her face beaming. "Especially you Freddie darling! You're the best friend I ever loved!"
"I know I am." I smiled, biting back the smugness that tempted to creep into my eyes.
