I walk into the school entrance and I seem like a mouse in a giant zoo. So many people surrounding others, talking, fighting, spreading rumors, you know, normal high school stuff. As I'm walking to try to get to my locker, someone taps me on the shoulder.

"Here are your dogs," Sophia is smiling with my two furry companions not turned human.

"Thanks, I can take them."

"Yeah, no problem Rachel."

"I need to tell you something Sophia," We start walking again to my locker and I speak quieter. "My parents think that the dogs are missing and I don't know what to do."

"Well first, you never even told me for  real why they were turned into humans."

"Do you want me to tell you?"

"Of course I do."

"I got mad at them because they made me fall, and I yelled at my mom, so she sent Snickers in to help me calm down. I was even worse when Snickers jumped on to my bed and I told her that if she was a human, she would understand."

"So it's a Freaky Friday type thing?"

"Yeah, I just don't understand how to turn them back before my parents go mental." Sophia's eyes lighten.

"You do the opposite you did---" THE BELL!!! Officially my least favorite thing. "Sorry gotta go Rachel, do you want me to take," she makes quotation symbols with her hands, "Milinda and Sasha." We both laugh.

"Can you?"

"Yeah sure, they're starting to grow on me." We turn away from each other and walk to our own classes.

The day zips by fast, faster than I want it to go. 2:00 is only hours away, and I am so nervous I can't function. It's already lunch and Sophia's going to force me to sit next to Jason.  I walk into the lunchroom and spot Sophia, Mischa, and Snickers waiting in line for food, I run up in line with them.

"Come with me," I scare Sophia

"Why, where are we going?"

"I want to sit next to Jason, but I don't want to go alone."

"Fine, I'll go with you," she slides down the lunch line and when she's done getting lunch we walk over to where Jason, with the dogs not far behind. Jason is sitting alone waiting for the twins, who probably ditched him.

I walk up to where Jason is sitting and climb over to the other side of the table. "Um, Hi Jason."

"Hi, Rachel," He smiles at me with his golden eyes open wide. I wonder if I just ask him out now and get it over with. Have something to look forward to later. I turn backward to ask Sophia what she thinks I should do, but when I turn all I seem to find is a wall. She bailed on me. "Hey Rachel, I need to ask you something?" Is he going to ask me first, he feels the same way.

"Yeah, what is it?" My heart is soaring out of the sky, out of this universe.

"Do you know where I can get a napkin?" I hear words but they aren't what I was expecting.

"A napkin?" He better be joking.

"Yeah."

"I can get for you." Back to my nervous self again. Great, just great. Gonna go get a napkin for my big ol' dang crush. A napkin, pathetic. I stand up and walk to go the cash register where the utensils are. I find the napkins and I am so nervous that I end up grabbing 12, heck, the more the merrier. I walk back and Sophia stops me on the way there.

"Go get him tiger," Seriously, she ditched me and now she's encouraging me to embarrass myself some more. All I can help is to smile back, to play it cool. I get back to the table and Jason looks down and chuckles a little , did he think this was funny, or was he joking, Argggg.

"Jason, I need to ask you something." Now is the time, you can do it Rachel.
"Yeah, what is it?" Don't chicken out. What's the worst he can say?
"A, um-" I don't know how to say it. "I was wondering, if, a." Nothing comes out.

"Rachel do you want to go get coffee after school?" Am I hearing this correctly?

"You want to get coffee with me?" Is he being serious, or is he just joking?

"I would love to," Maybe he does really have feeling for me after all. The whole rest of lunch we just sit there and don't talk, but every once and awhile I catch his eyes. He made this way easier than I expected
