School is over and I'm heading to my locker to grab my backpack and find Jason. I am so pumped to go to get coffee with Jason, it's just, I have no idea what dates are supposed to be like, I've never been on one.

"Rachel!" I turn around and I see Sophia running down the hall with Mischa and Snickers. She finally reaches my locker and is panting.

"How far did you run?"

"That's not any of your concern, anyways, my question is what's going on with Jason?" I really don't want to tell her because I don't want her living through my relationship, it's not really even a relationship, yet.

"We are getting coffee right now."

"Oh, do you want me to take the dogs?"

"Please, but I promise that I will find a solution, I don't need you acting like a babysitter to my dogs."

"No, it's totally ok, there becoming like, sister to me."

"That's the problem, I got us into this mess, I need to get us out."

"Ok, but I'm taking them tonight."

"Thanks, bye," I wave to Sophia as she walks down the hall to her locker, and I turn back to mine to finish packing up. I slam my locker shut and lean up against my locker with my eyes closed. Lets hope this date goes swell and I figure out how to turn Mischa and Snickers back to dog. I open my eyes and see Jason leaning against the lockers across the hall. He smiles and stands back up straight while I follow his moves.

"Do you need a ride?" Jason asks me.

"Yeah," Since Sophia just drives me everywhere or I just walk, I never even thought of getting a car, or getting a license.

"Sounds fantastic," His voice gets to me and this feeling goes through me, telling me that I really like him, Which I already knew. I smile as we walk down the hallways together and out the front doors. I don't know if it's because of the occasion but the school seems like a shadow, emptier, darker, and spookier than before. Whatever it is it's giving me mixed feelings.
We walk out into the parking lot and dodge lots of cars before getting to Jason's camo green jeep. Jason takes a step in front of me and opens the door to the passenger seat and jesters me to go in.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I ask. He chuckles again and closes the door when I'm in the car, he walk to the other side of the car and climbs into the driver's seat of the car. He sticks his key into the engine and starts the jeep up. His radio immediately turns on and is playing some indie song that I don't recognize really loud. I laugh while his hand struggles to reach the volume to turn it down. He finally turns it down to background music at 1, when he done adjusting the stereo, he turn to me and looks into my eyes.

"Where do you want go?" He asks while still staring at me.

"What do you mean, I thought we were going to coffee?" Why would he ask someone earlier if they wanted to get coffee and then later ask them where they wanted to go. Did he forget he asked me?

"Do you want coffee?" I'm not really in the mood to get coffee, but I don't know where I want to go.

"I don't know."

"Well, you're making this harder for me to know where to go." Harder for him? I thought he had this all planned out. All I can do though it's sit here and smile like an idiot. "Rachel, I wondering what you were going to ask me earlier?"

"Oh, a, well, I was going to ask you, um." I can't tell him how I feel, the date hasn't really even started yet.

"Were you going to ask me out?" Could he tell, was I being too obvious? I need to tell him, he is asking me.

"Yes," I take a deep breath and look away from his eyes and down to my hands that are locked together.

"Oh, few, that takes a giant weight off my shoulder."

"What are talking about?"

"Today at lunch, you were going to ask me something and I kind of figured you were going to ask me out, but I was wasn't sure. The words slipped out of my mouth, and I was worried you didn't like me the same way."

"Yeah, at least you had the courage to say it yourself.  I kind of wanted to ask you out when I fainted, but I never could because I am a chicken.  Sophia was trying to help me, so she zapped me to you for 2:00 today, but you know, that happened."

"You never did tell anyone why you fainted?"

"Let's not go there."  He is going to think I'm a freak if he finds out I fainted because of his hair.

"Anyways, where were we."  He smiles at me and turns back to the steering wheel. "I have the perfect place."
