The Refuge (Noire x Writer)

It's All About Money

     I arrived at the Basilicom and got to my office. There was a note on my door. It read:"Get to my office and we'll leave. -Noire". I got inside and took everything I needed, the drone, my phone, spear gun and taser gun. I arrived at her office with the drone behind me. I knocked on the door.

-"Lady Black Heart! Are you ready to leave?"

-"Yeah, just gimme a sec!"

     I waited outside her room for 13 minutes before she came out. She was in her HDD mode. Something I've never seen her wear before, other than 3 years ago. I took the opportunity to check out her outfit. But as I was looking, my eyes slowly drifted down towards her ample bust. But I quickly looked away when she turned to face me. 

-"You ready?"

-"Yes."

-"We're taking this guy downtown."

-"Uh, it's Lastation Noire, we don't have a downtown."

-"You know what I mean! Just book em'!"

-"Alright, yeah yeah, arrest him, I got it."

     We went out to her balcony and she started flying away.

-"Wait!"

-"What is it?"

-"How will I get there?"

-"Oh yeah."

     She made jet wings appear in her hands and made them float towards me.

-"You're flying too."

-"Huh?!"

     She made them go around my back and the harness went around my torso and strapped securely, comfortably too. They shot to life and I heard a system say:"NEURAL LINK ONLINE". Were they connected to my brain? I looked over at Black Heart who was giving me a look of impatience. Clearly, she wanted to go now.

-"How do I operate this?"

-"*Sigh* Think about what you want to do that involves the wings. That's it. NOW LET'S GO."

     I thought about flight. The wings activated and I hovered in the air. THIS WAS SO COOL!! 

-"Good, CAN WE GO NOW?!"

     I flew forward as a response. She rapidly caught up to me and stayed at the same speed as me. 

-"Those don't go THAT fast so don't think you're invincible." Noire said.

-"Yeah, alright. So when we get there, I'll cut the power. That good?" I asked.

-"Yeah, just make sure you get him."

-"Understood."

     We arrived at the establishment and landed. Noire took back the wings and I brought out my phone. I got into the building's electrical systems and made the circuit breaker at the back of the building only allow me to make changes to the building. I unlocked the electric back door and we went inside. We searched every room until we heard a voice on the building's speakers.

-"I see my camera was convincing enough to make you come. But I didn't expect you to bring your boyfriend with you. What a shame."

-"We're not even in a relationship you dumbass!" I yelled.

-"Oh, so I see the position is still open then. I hope to be the one that fills that rol-"

     I shut down the camera systems and started moving again, Noire following me.

-"You know where we're going, right?" Noire asked.

-"The basement. Unfortunately, this is an underground building. So we'll have to make our way down the floors one by one since there are no elevators."

     She nodded. We made our way through each floor, defeating monsters along the way. I was so close to receiving my bonus! I just needed to not screw this up.

...

     We finally made our way to the basement and made it to the main server room. I had the drone place a breaching charge on the door and it handed me the detonator. It was now or never.

BOOM

     We barged in the room and I pointed my spear gun at the person. Noire's eyes widened in shock when she saw who it was.

-"I remember you!"

-"You know him?"

-"He sent me pictures of myself saying that he would keep them to himself! He's a creep!"

     I think she'll kill him if I wait too long. Time to get my bonus. Sorry Noire.

NOIRE'S P.O.V.

     I felt rage within me as I charged up my attack. Anonydeath looked totally calm for some reason. Why? We had the power to take him down and yet he seemed so laid back. 

-"I remember you!" I yelled in rage.

-"You know him?" Rick asked me.

-"He sent me pictures of myself saying that he would keep them to himself! He's a creep!"

-"........." 

     Rick stayed silent. Never mind that! I need to take him down! Here we go! As I was about to attack, Rick spoke up.

-"I know."

     I looked over just in time to see a metal rod flying towards my face. There was no time to move. It hit me dead center on my forehead. I fell to the ground with a thud as I saw Rick walking over to Anonydeath. WTF?! He works with him?! I tried to get up but I was rapidly losing consciousness.

RICK'S P.O.V.

     I swung the rod at her before she could react and it hit her on her forehead, hard enough to send her to the ground. I could tell she was losing consciousness. I walked over to Anonydeath as he handed me the reward he promised. 3 000 000 000 000 dollars confirmed to be in my bank account, he even showed me my account balance and there was indeed the 3 trillion dollar increase, plus the money I already had. Which gave me 3 000 000 002 345 dollars. I needed that money. If I wanted to keep Sophie safe and happy, this was the only way. I looked over at Noire who was out cold at this point.

-"You need help bringing her down to the prison?"

-"Sure! I'll take all the help I can get!"

     I walked over to Noire, picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. 

-"Mind showing me the way?"

-"Follow me."

     He opened a trapdoor and led me down it. There were a lot of people down here. I counted around 20, and everyone here was reported missing. So this is where they went. He opened a cell and I brought Noire inside. I put her down on a bench. He pulled out some fancy looking cuffs and snapped them open.

-"What are those?"

-"Cuffs specially designed for CPU's. They're able to restrain powers from its wearer."

-"Cool. I'm not gonna question how it works as long as it does."

     We strapped the cuffs on Noire and locked the gate behind us. I decided to hang around since, if I returned without Noire, people would start to suspect. Anonydeath started up a game console and we played some Duty Calls while we waited for Noire to wake up. We had been playing for 2 hours until I noticed something on the camera feed of Noire. She was awake! I pointed towards the screen to show Anonydeath and we went back down to see her. As soon as she saw me, she made a face that basically said:"I hate you." I just watched as Anonydeath started talking to her. I thought about how Sophie's life would be better now that we had money. The future looked promising.

I got home and went inside to see Sophie  sitting on the couch watching TV. When she saw me, she ran up to me and hugged me. The rest of the evening went on normally and I went to bed. I decided not to tell her about the money thing until tomorrow and NEVER tell her about the betrayal thing. I closed my eyes thinking about how life would be different from now on.
